Hit Monkey is an upcoming series from Marvel Animation. The series will be the first to focus on the character, his first animated appearance, and first television appearance. The series was announced on February 11th, 2019 at the Television Critics Association press tour.
Before landing itself as an animated series, Hit Monkey was a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics in 2010. In February 2019, it was announced that Marvel Television was developing an adult animated television series based on Hit-Monkey, with a series order at Hulu, along with M.O.D.O.K. and ones based on Tigra and Dazzler, and Howard the Duck, that were intended to lead up to a crossover special titled The Offenders.

The blood-soaked 10-part comedy, which hits Hulu on Nov. 17, draws from some truly obscure corners of Marvel comics and builds an entire series around a minor Deadpool supporting character: a suit-wearing, gun-toting Japanese Macaque who assassinates other assassins.

“He's a ghost, and he's having to look back at the mess of his life,” said Gordon. “To us that was poignant and funny.” Bryce's flaws make him a perfect foil for Monkey, who begins the season as a total innocent but later ends up wearing the identity of assassin just as well as he wears his tiny little suit.
“Is it like Comic-Con all the time here or something?” the phantom hitman Bryce complains in the midst of Marvel's Hit-Monkey. The cameos certainly merit the comparison. Although the Hulu animated series resolutely tells its own story, it's still a part of a larger Marvel universe.

The series will be written by Josh Gordon and Will Speck. Gordon, Speck, and Jeph Loeb will be executive producers. The series will follow Hit Monkey, a wronged Japanese snow monkey who was mentored by the ghost of an American assassin, as he cuts his way through the Tokyo underworld.
Gordon said of the series, " We first read Hit-Monkey about eight years ago, not long after it was published, and we were immediate fans. To us it's one of the best origin stories for any Marvel character ever. ".
The series relates the adventures of Hit-Monkey, a Japanese snow monkey exacting revenge against the Yakuza underworld in Tokyo. He is assisted in these evdeavors by the ghost of Bryce, a dead American assassin.
The series was in pre-production in early 2019, while Marvel Television was a semi-autonomous production arm of Marvel. By the end of 2019, however, the division was subsumed by Marvel Studios, with Hit-Monkey being one of only two Marvel Television series to have surved the consolidation.
The show is met with generally positive reviews from critics and fans alike with an 80% from Rotten Tomatoes, 7/10 from ING and a 8.0/10 from IMDb.
Also known as Lady Bullseye, Maki Matsumoto (Reiko Aylesworth) is the de facto antagonist in this great Hulu animated show who presents one dangerous obstacle after another to Hit-Monkey (Fred Tatasciore) and his cohorts. The ruthless assassin kills without an ounce of compunction, making her opponents deathly afraid of an encounter.
With honor and benevolence, Shinji Yokohama (George Takei) is a good-hearted politician who decides to run for office after Takahara is assassinated by Hit-Monkey. With encouragement from his niece Akiko (Olivia Munn), he decides to take a public leadership role, putting a target on his back from Ozu, a fierce politician.

At first blush, Fat Cobra (Noshir Dalal) appears to be a formidable foe that Hit-Monkey is forced to fight with by the Accountant. However, after defeating him, Hit-Monkey joins forces with Fat Cobra to take down the Accountant for good. The quick transition from a bad guy to a good guy goes a long way in supporting his efforts.
As the most ethically-centered and good-hearted character on the binge-worthy Hulu anime, Haruka is impossible to dislike in Hit-Monkey. The moral compass of the show, Haruka is an honorable but naive policewoman who wants nothing more than to serve and protect Tokyo in the most effective way possible.
Ambitious, intelligent, and extremely industrious, Akiko Yokohama is among the most compelling characters in the show. Her touching relationship with her uncle Shinjo plays a part, but it's her succession of Lady Bullseye and her vow to act as a force of kindness that givers her such a sterling status. Well, at least until the final episode.
Aside from being a cool, witty, shade-wearing snow monkey with assassination skills to rival Jason Bourne, Hit-Monkey's courageous rescue attempts of nearly every main character on the stellar 2021 Hulu original series makes him the most lovable character on the adult animated show.

The short answer to that is no, Hit Monkey doesn’t take place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This follows in the same footsteps as other shows like The New Mutants, Inhumans, Legion, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and many more to name a few.
You may recognise quite a few voices as you get stuck into the animated show. Fred Tatasciore comes in as Hit-Monkey, Jason Sudeikis as Bryce, George Takei as Shinji Yokohama, Olivia Munn as Akiko, Ally Maki as Haruka and Nobi Nakanishi as Ito.
Viewers can jump into Hit Monkey on 17 November 2021 and watch the 10 episode series either on Hulu at 12:01 am ET or on Disney+ at 8 am GMT.
