The strongest positive point in gintama is it's comedy, gintama is not like any other anime, unlike normal anime It makes fun of the most popular series like one piece or dragon ball, even tho they used it often it never gets old, gintama knows how to entertain it's watcher and it does it really good.
I can safely say I have never had constant laughter or anything 'bone hurting' from any anime - But Gintama for me is the funniest. Setups and punchlines are always classic - and it also has great stories and moving moments.
Its characters: Gintama does a really good job of establishing an emotional connection to its characters. They’re all very well written and have a lot of depth to them, and they help each other shine. Certain character interactions spark some of the greatest moments and most popular episodes.
Yes there is a story and it gets serious later on like around 50 episodes or so. It has plenty of stories. If you don't like the comedy AT ALL after the first 30 episodes, then you should probably not watch anymore. The show isn't about fighting either so the only techniques you'll see will never be used.
With over 350 episodes, Gintama is quite a massive undertaking, especially since it does have a somewhat slow start. However, this is one journey that is worth taking. Even when the anime begins to focus more on action rather than comedy, Gintama remains fantastic.
Gintama is better than bleach but u just have to be better in watching japaneese with subtitles. The show itself is boring at first but I promise u that Gintama will make you say it is the best anime I ever seen.
As an action series, Gintama takes a long time to get going; therefore, it is not a great point to start for someone looking for a fun series about samurai.
If Gintama is the definitive samurai parody, then Cromartie High School is the equivalent series for anime delinquents.
Sazae-san - 7,701 episodes Recognized by the Guinness World Records, this anime holds the world record for the longest-running animated TV series. The show is about a mother named Sazae-san and her family life.
Although there were some serious arcs near the beginning of the series (such as the Benizakura arc), Gintama starts to get more serious toward the end.
16 Overrated: Gintama If you like over-the-top humor and crazy scenarios, it's pretty entertaining. But it does have some problems that make it undeserving of all the hype it gets. The big one is that it is a long series. And there isn't any kind of overarching story, making the plot go all over the place.

2 weeks ago I had almost made one of the biggest mistakes of my life, that was, I was about to drop Gintama. I had started watching Gintama since I was curious about why it was so highly rated and praised by many individuals.
One Piece anime is a plain excuse for the adaptation. Gintama doesn't really have it's "over-arching" plot as it's top priority (it's still good all the same). Its main focus is the comedy. However, if you end up connecting and liking the characters, the serious arcs in Gintama will absolutely blow you away..

Both have nice feels, but I definitely feel Gintama was way better than Saiki though. Both are comedic shows with deadpan deliveries. If you like the style of humour in one, you'll also enjoy the other. Essentially, Saiki K's comedy is executed almost exactly like Gintama.
