Up till now, it has released its five seasons, and the next one, the 6th, has been officially confirmed. The Japanese anime is based on cooking and comedy. It revolves around the character Yukihira Souma, whose dream is to become a full-time chef like his father.
Shortly after season 4 ended, the renewal announcement for Food Wars season 5 came. However, season 5 will also be the final season for the series. Season 5 (Shokugeki no Soma: The Fifth Plate) concluded on September 25th, 2020, and left the fans emotional.
The fifth and final season of Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma anime television series, subtitled Food Wars! As Tsukuda explained, he wanted to end it after the Central arc as it brought the growth of many of the series' characters to their natural conclusion, "I had been envisioning for a few years that the arc after Régiment du Cuisine would be the last.

Tsukuda said that he and Saeki would collaborate on ideas for the storyline, and that later their editor would also be involved in the discussion. Some of the reactions to the dishes were the result of free association games, where they would pick some of the unexpected phrases. They keep a library of possible dishes that they researched before and every week they would see if any would fit their storyline.
The individual chapters have been compiled into eight tankōbon volumes.
Students can initiate a shokugeki (anime: food war ), a cooking fight with stipulations on the line, with any other student or alumnus. Battles fought in this way could be for cooking utensils, research society facilities, council membership, or even expulsion from the school.
A fourth season entitled Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma: The Fourth Plate (食戟のソーマ 神ノ皿, Shokugeki no Sōma: Shin no Sara) aired from October 12 to December 28, 2019.

The answer to this question is both yes and no. Yes, since it has the generic shonen trope of “Protagonist is OP.” And no, because even though the protagonist is OP, he does have decent character growth, and also, the main concept of the anime is entirely different.
Nope, Food Wars has officially ended. The main source material that is the manga, was completed back in 2019. The Fifth Plate also concludes at the same point that the manga did. But there were some specials released after the end. So, one can hope for those specials to be released in the form of OVA.
Yes, that is doable. But it is not recommended to do so. That’s because the OVAs are released after each season is finished. So the story and timeline are synced with the prior season. Thus, if you watch it all at the end, you might miss a few exciting snippets.
Though I joked that Food Wars is all about Foodgasms, it is an excellent anime to enjoy. The writing, the art style all are captivating. In fact, I learned a lot about cooking after watching this anime.
