After playing it along with him, the rating is far too high. All violence is mainly censored with pink blood and deaths are all cartoon. There are mild sexual references and some swearing, but overall it is fine for an 11 year old.

The anime isn’t much better as there’s a full on aphrodisiacs scene. Sexuality aside, Danganronpa is disturbing to even adults.
While the game was suitable for 16+ audiences (But it depends on maturity levels of your child, if a ; 10 at the youngest is able to handle the violence, and arent sheltered alot, they should be fine, though 16 plus is recommended) the anime is 13+ (but as said, depends on maturity.)
Danganronpa V3 is the most "adult" like. Blood is still pink but deaths and executions are much more violent and gruesome. Swearing is more common, and there's this one character (Miu Iruma) who says pretty much everything, many sexual words like cum and kinky wax play, and swear words like fuck and bitch.
Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair is fine for teens.
It isn't scary at all but it has a very interesting story and sucks you into the game, which makes it worth playing through. Lies! Lies and slander! It's not scary what so ever!
It doesn't look like Danganronpa is on Netflix at the moment. There is no clear answer as to why the streaming network has yet to acquire the series despite the show being out almost eight years now and the show having such an immense die-hard fandom.
15 It Features Pink Blood To Avoid Censorship Danganropa wanted to avoid any censorship or controversy before it could even get started so the development team changed the color of the blood from red to bright pink.
