How to Draw an Anime Girl Body. Start by drawing the head. You could draw a circle, then add the chin and jaw. However, it’s much easier to draw an inverted egg shape instead. We want to ensure that the character’s body is symmetrical. That’s why we are going to draw a vertical line in the middle of the head.
The line should be long since it will be equal to your character’s height. Make sure it’s about six and a half times the height of the head. Include horizontal markings down the vertical line to act as guides when you draw the rest of the body. The gap between each horizontal mark should be the same as the head height.
Start by drawing the head without any of the small details. In the front view you can draw a circle to help you get the shape of the top of the head. In the side view it will be a slight oval. For more on drawing anime heads and faces see: How to Draw an Anime Girl’s Head and Face.
Start by drawing some lines that indicate each item of clothing. Draw these lines in smooth curves that hug the shape of the body.
Anime girl leg structure. The legs should be about half the length of the entire body. The feet (when drawing the side view) should be about as long as the distance from the wrists to the elbow. For more on drawing the legs see: How to Draw Female Anime Legs Tutorial.
If you are drawing two views at once you can add the horizontal lines to make sure that the different body parts match up in both views. Drawing both views at once is a good exercise. If you are good at drawing one particular body part in one view but not so much in another this can help you.
1. Draw an oval and divide it into 4 sections. This will be the basic outline of your anime character’s head. The proportions don’t have to be exact, but make the oval narrower at the bottom since that will be the chin. Once you’ve drawn the oval, draw a horizontal line through the center of it. Then, draw a vertical line through the center ...
To draw your character’s nose, draw a short, simple vertical line along the center of the face at the halfway point between the horizontal line and the chin.
Community Answer. The best trick for drawing hands well is to study your own hands first. Notice the shape, color, texture, angles, etc. Draw your hand in dozens of different positions and in different lighting. This isn't a shortcut, per se, but it's an exercise that will improve your drawing.
Make the hands about 1/5 the length of the arm, and make the feet about 1/6 the length of the legs. To get the proportions right, make your stick-figure outline about 7 times as tall as your character’s head. Have the arm lines start about 1/5 of the way down the line you draw for the torso.
However, if your character’s hair is going to be short, draw a narrow oval on each side of the head. Have the top of the ears line up with the horizontal line running through the center of the face, and have the bottoms line up with the bottom of the nose. Then, draw the flaps of the ear inside each oval.
Make the line longer if you want your character’s nose to be big. Make the nose the smallest feature on your character’s face. The nose will overlap with the vertical line you drew. To see it better, make it darker than the vertical line, or erase the vertical line around the nose.
The hairstyle you choose for your character is up to you, but generally, anime hair features pointed ends and distinct sections. You can draw a short, buzzed hairstyle, a medium-length style, or long, flowy hair. Whichever hairstyle you choose, avoid drawing individual strands of hair.

In order to draw great anime characters, you want to pay attention to the character designs.
In the above images, I show you how to draw an anime girl face step by step.
Don’t be afraid to use a photo reference to help you draw poses. Have you ever seen professional painters use a model to create their paintings?
Most of the time, an anime character's body can be divided into halves right at the crotch level. Sometimes, the lower half is made longer to make the legs longer or the torso more robust, but it's rarely shorter (A).
The neck is fairly straightforward: just draw a line from the center of the clavicles towards the ears, and fill the rest as a simple column. As for the back, don't forget about the shoulder blades.
The length of the arm (above the elbow) is usually equal to the length of the forearm + the palm of the hand (B). The distance between the crotch and the halfway point of the knee is equal to the distance between the halfway point of the knee and the ankle (C).
The torso is the simplest to draw because it has big, clear muscle masses, and it doesn't change shape too much.
Let's take a look at the body parts separately. The torso still looks very much like an hourglass. You just have to remember about the tilting of the chest and hips towards the waist in the back. The limbs are a little more complex, but still easily understandable. Just imagine them as the limbs of a drawing dummy!
Let's be honest: arms are the most complex piece of anatomy, because they have many muscles and they're very mobile, creating various poses of their own. But they can be simplified, too!
Step 8. Breasts can be tricky to draw, because they're not really what they seem . They're soft masses, affected greatly by gravity, not simply firm balls attached to the chest. They don't really have one solid shape—it changes all the time with the pose.
To help you can start your drawing by first making a vertical line through what will later be the middle of the body.
Anime boy body side view drawing. The side view of the body can actually be more challenging to draw than the front view. In the side view various parts of the body curve in slightly different directions as indicated in the above example.
Step 1 – Anime Boy’s Body Proportions Breakdown. To make a character look younger you will usually want to draw them more slender than their older counterpart. Muscular characters will automatically tend to look older. A good way to measure the body is by using the head.
Anime boy full body drawing step by step. The boy in this tutorial can be anywhere from 10-15 years old. Depending on the artists style sometimes older anime characters can be drawn to still look fairly young. Generally the more stylized the characters the younger they tend to look (Chibi for example).
To color the drawing you can simply fill in each area with the appropriate color (be sure to leave the reflections white if coloring on paper). Start with the larger areas and work your way down to the smallest.
In this case the shadows will be on the neck from the head and on the arms and legs from the sleeves of the shirt and the shorts.
Arm Proportions. The part where the hand is attached to the arm will go down to about the horizontal halfway point of the body. Please also keep in mind that the arms in this example are held out slightly to the sides so these joins will be a little lower down if the arms area held right up against the body.
