Here is a fantastic Anime & Manga Eyes (for Boys / Men / Male Anime Eyes) that is very easy to draw with very impressive results. The previous Manga tutorials were for drawing Male Manga Eyes and Female Anime Eyes and How to Draw Anime Faces and How to Draw Anime / Manga Hair and Drawing Anime Lips & Mouths.
Begin drawing the male Anime eye by drawing a thick line for the upper eye. Don’t make the line too straight, give it a little bit of a curve in the middle.
Remember that Manga male eyes are always “narrow” and “thin” compared to female eyes. Place the lower eye line not to far below the top eye line. (See Drawing Female Anime Eyes Tutorial and compare the differences in eye construction)
Now add the iris by drawing a circle covered partially by the eyelid. Also emphasize the eyelid by drawing a thin line just above the upper eye line that was drawn in step #1.
Just as any Anime/Manga eye, the glare in the eye is always present and the male eye is no exception. For proper understanding on how to place glares, below we have place the glare instructions from the female eyes drawing tutorial.
Add the pupil in the center of the iris. Always place the pupil behind the glare.
Finalize the eye by shading the iris. Note: Don’t forget that male eyes still have eye lashes … so still include them as we did. Other male eye variety following the same method.
Male anime character face drawing step by step. Draw the basic shape of the head starting with a vertical line to help you make sure both halves are even. Position the facial features as described earlier. Draw the hair after placing all of the facial features.
To draw a male “protagonist” character with their normal expressions draw the eyebrows in their natural position and draw the eyes with fairly large pupils/irises. If you want a friendly looking character draw the mouth with a light smile.
The concerned or “thinking” expression is one that the “intellectual” character is likely to make. Anime intellectual male character concerned face drawing. For the concerned expression draw the eyebrows lower down and closer together with some wrinkles in between them.
Anime guy face drawing. The “average guy” character is usually meant to be someone the viewer can relate to or cheer for. These are often the protagonists of anime shows and manga or the lead male character if the protagonist is a female. Somewhat messy medium length hair is very common for these types of characters.
Before going into drawing specific character archetypes it’s a good idea to first analyze the characteristic features of male anime faces. While there is quite a bit of variation in the anime and manga style generally all anime characters tend to have large eyes, small noses amd simplified mouths with no lips.
Anime guy happy face drawing. A happy smile can be one of the expressions this type of character is likely to have. Usually this is a look the main male character can give to a character they like such as the female protagonist. Anime male character happy face drawing.
Anime intellectual guy face drawing. The “intellectual” character type in anime and manga does not necessarily mean a shy or weak male character. On the contrary quite often these characters can be both physically though and intelligent. Often these tend to be the school council president or some type of leader.
Step 1 – Anime Boy’s Body Proportions Breakdown. To make a character look younger you will usually want to draw them more slender than their older counterpart. Muscular characters will automatically tend to look older. A good way to measure the body is by using the head.
Anime boy full body drawing step by step. The boy in this tutorial can be anywhere from 10-15 years old. Depending on the artists style sometimes older anime characters can be drawn to still look fairly young. Generally the more stylized the characters the younger they tend to look (Chibi for example).
Anime boy body side view drawing. The side view of the body can actually be more challenging to draw than the front view. In the side view various parts of the body curve in slightly different directions as indicated in the above example.
To color the drawing you can simply fill in each area with the appropriate color (be sure to leave the reflections white if coloring on paper). Start with the larger areas and work your way down to the smallest.
In this case the shadows will be on the neck from the head and on the arms and legs from the sleeves of the shirt and the shorts.
To help you can start your drawing by first making a vertical line through what will later be the middle of the body.
Leg Proportions. The legs are about half the length of the entire body. the length of the legs from the bottom of the foot to below the knee is roughly the same as the length from the bottom of the knee to the horizontal halfway point of the body.
For every step, sketch lightly at first so that it’s easy to erase if you make a mistake. Step 1: Draw two short, wide arcs for the top parts of the eyes. Make the arcs angle a bit.
The main differences between boy and girl eyes is that boy eyes are generally flatter and they don’t have as many eyelashes. Here we’ve also made them a bit more angular for a rougher look, rather than smooth, curved lines used for girl eyes.
The dotted line in the middle is to help you visualize the distance between the eyes. That means that in the space between the eyes, you should be able to fit a third arc that’s exactly the same size as the other two. If you need help with the spacing of the eyes, then draw the arc on the far left side first.
The same can be achieved with color pencils, markers or crayons! Start coloring the eye dark yellow-green at the top and then slowly and lightly transition to light yellow-green at the bottom . You can also use dark blue at the top and light blue at the bottom for blue eyes.
Make the top and bottom of the oval overlap with the lash lines so the top and bottom are hidden. Make the width at the widest part of the oval the same as the length of the lower lash line. This will be the iris of the eye. ...
First, draw a downward curving line for the upper lash line. Add a curved tail at one end (draw it on the end that's going to be the outer corner of the eye), going down and back toward the other end of the line, so the upper lash line is C-shaped.
Learn more... One of the most recognizable features of anime is the eyes. They’re big, they’re expressive, and they’re often exaggerated to show emotion. Anime eyes are only made up of a few basic shapes and they don’t have a lot of detail, so they’re actually pretty simple to draw.
Variation: You can draw a bigger pupil if you want the eye to look bigger and wider. Just make the oval about 1/2 the size of the iris (instead of 1/4th) and overlap it with both of the small circles you drew before. The circles should be in front of the oval. ...
For every step, sketch lightly at first so that it’s easy to erase if you make a mistake. Step 1: Draw a wide, curved line for the top part of the Manga Boy’s eye.
Using two colors gives the iris a more rounded feel. For a simpler drawing, you can also just use a single color for the iris. You can use any color you want like purple or red. If you skipped step 8 and left the inside of the eyebrow blank, you can now color it using brown or any other color you’d like.
Anime male hair front drawing. Draw the front of the hair in fairly large clumps that start from around the top of the head and go down well past the hairline. Make the clump/clumps in the middle slightly longer than the sides.
The reason for this is that short hairs can’t reach far enough to join into as a big a clump.
The medium length hair (or some variation of it) is probably one of the most generic hairstyles in anime and manga. Very common to the “average guy” protagonists. Before drawing the hair draw an outline of the head along with the hairline.
Anime medium long male hair front drawing. Begin the drawing of the actual hair by adding the part that goes down the middle of the face. It can start from about the top of the head and go down to around the tip of the nose (if it was shown).
One common characteristic of this hair is that the portions that would cover the eyes are often swept to the sides with one big chunk going down the middle of the face to around the tip of the nose.
