Drawing a cute anime pose is great for showing off a character’s personality, trying to make a character appealing , or it could be a style of drawing where you draw cute versions of established characters .
The shape of anime facial features tends to be round heads, with larger eyes, pointier chin, smaller nose, and mouth.
Dynamic poses are great for action scenes. They show energy and attract a sense of urgency.
There are 5 distinct manga styles: Shonen, Shojo, Seinin, Josei, and Kodomomuke. The purpose of these 5 styles is to describe the audience each story is for. They do not function as genres, but as a label of the demographics, they cater to.
Have more pronounced facial features; for example, a chiseled jaw, thick eyebrows, etc.
A general rule of thumb is that if your character is in a relaxed pose, then there usually is only 1 action line.
Don’t be afraid to use a photo reference to help you draw poses . Have you ever seen professional painters use a model to create their paintings?
Step 1 – Draw the Torso. Anime throwing pose torso drawing. Draw the torso almost horizontal to the ground with a slight backwards bend. It will also have a bit of a twist that you can show by making it wider at the top and narrower towards the the middle curving inwards on both ends but more so at the back.
Anime aiming pose drawing step by step. This pose is of a character aiming a gun. It can be common for a scenes like special forces storming a building. In this case the gun is a fairly large rifle but a similar pose can also work for a hand gun. You would simply need to change the position of the arms.
Draw the punching arm extended forward (hand in a fist) with the other arm pointing slightly backwards and it’s hand basically clenched to one side of the chest.
Draw the forward facing arm bent so that it’s elbow points forward (sort of a reverse bent of the forward leg). The back facing arm in this case will be bit tricky as it’s bent backwards as the character is taking a swing. To show this bend draw the elbow to shoulder part of the arm slightly shorter and project it’s outlines to “cut” into the elbow to wrist part.
Draw the head tilted back (in relation to the torso) so that the character is pretty much looking forward.
Draw the head tilted forward and lower down (basically tucked in).
Draw the head lowered and very slightly tilted forward to show that the character is aiming.
Sketch features and hair onto your figure’s head. Place the eyes just below the center of the circle add eyebrows slightly above them. Add the nose and eyes below the eyes in the middle of the face. Choose a hairstyle for your anime character and draw it in clumps rather than individual strands.
Your anime girl’s shoulders should be about 1 ½ times wider than the head.
Sketch an hourglass shape with 2 circles in it for the torso. Draw the top line of the hourglass shape slightly below the chin to form the shoulders. Draw curved lines going toward the center line, and flare out the bottom of the hourglass shape so it’s slightly wider than the shoulders for the hips.
1. Draw a head at the top of your paper. Place a circle near the top center of the page so there’s enough room to add hair later on. Put the point of the chin slightly outside the bottom edge of the circle since the jaw will come lower down.
Put circles on the top corners of the shoulders to mark the joints so you can visualize them better.
Be careful not to erase the outline for your character or else you’ll have to redraw it.
Warning: Be careful not to draw the head too large or else you won’t be able to fit the rest of the body on the sheet of paper.
Start by drawing the head without any of the small details. In the front view you can draw a circle to help you get the shape of the top of the head. In the side view it will be a slight oval. For more on drawing anime heads and faces see: How to Draw an Anime Girl’s Head and Face.
Start by drawing some lines that indicate each item of clothing. Draw these lines in smooth curves that hug the shape of the body.
Anime girl leg structure. The legs should be about half the length of the entire body. The feet (when drawing the side view) should be about as long as the distance from the wrists to the elbow. For more on drawing the legs see: How to Draw Female Anime Legs Tutorial.
If we were doing a more realistic looking style the body would be about as wide as two heads side by side (not including the hair). But since we are drawing anime draw the head slightly bigger than that so the body will be smaller in comparison.
One of the most important thing to keep in mind when drawing the full figure is the proportions or the relation of one body part to another. Everything has to be the right size or your character will look odd.
The shape of the body (when drawing the front view) should be similar to an hourglass.
If you are drawing two views at once you can add the horizontal lines to make sure that the different body parts match up in both views. Drawing both views at once is a good exercise. If you are good at drawing one particular body part in one view but not so much in another this can help you.
