A “striped” anime blush is made with just a few line strokes and is fairly easy to draw. Simply make two sets of angled lines around the cheek areas. For a nicer looking blush make the outer stripes a bit shorter and the inner stripes a bit longer. Aim for a combined shape that can fit inside a stretched oval.

For an upset look (more so than the previous example) draw the eyebrows raised towards the nose with the eyes squinted. Draw the mouth slightly longer than in the previous example with the mouth corner going a little further downwards.
Though actual irises of the eyes don’t change size they are often drawn smaller in anime to give a character a really scared look. As anime eyes tend to already be fairly wide drawing them even wider may make a character look too deformed so the solution is to draw smaller irises.
For drawing an open mouth an important thing to note is that the jaw will be lower down. Also keep in mind that it is only the lower jaw that moves when the mouth is opens. The upper jaw stays in place.
Place a horizontal mark for the chin underneath the circle. Find the distance from the center of the circle to the line you drew for the nose. Measure down from the bottom of the circle (or the nose line) to the distance you just found and make a small horizontal mark on the vertical center line.
If you want to make a simple nose, just put a dot on the point where the nose guide line and the vertical center line intersect.
1. Place ears on the sides of the head between the eye and nose lines. The top and bottom of each ear will line up with the eye and nose lines you drew earlier. Sketch oblong C-shapes between the guide lines for your ears so they connect to the sides of the circle and jawline.
When you’re drawing a young boy or girl character, make the neck lines closer to the chin that the sides of the jaw. Hold your drawing out in front of you to see if the neck looks too long or short while you’re drawing it. Erase or extend the lines further depending on how it looks to you.
Outline the jaw for your character. Start on either the left or right side of the circle at its widest point. Draw a line from the side of the circle that’s slightly angled toward the vertical center line. Continue drawing the line until you reach the mark you made for the nose.
1. Draw a circle on your paper with a vertical line running through the middle. Use a pencil so you’re able to erase your lines if you make a mistake. Lightly draw the circle in the center of a piece of paper so you have room to add features to it.
For a female character, place the lines for the neck closer to the chin so it’s narrower. Make straight vertical lines extending from the jaw on each side of the face to make the neck. Younger manga or anime characters will have a narrow neck since they aren’t as muscular or defined.
In drawing faces & heads, in any style (whether it be Manga & Anime, Cartooning, Illustration, or whatever), profiles help us understand the main differences of people’s heads. In Manga & Anime style illustration, drawing the face’s side view is often the most fun thing to do.
You can start the profile view of the face with a simple circle. A circle shape is ideal for drawing the Anime / Manga face & head.
Now draw a line horizontally through the center of the circle. Now you have 2 halves of the circle. Cut the bottom half of the circle in half horizontally again. Also draw a horizontal line at the bottom of the circle. See the picture above if I confused you.
Now draw a line down the center of the circle vertically (up and down). Also draw a diagonal line from the left side of the center horizontal line down to the left side of the 2nd horizontal line…and keep the line going until you pass the 3rd horizontal line.
Now we have all the guidelines in place to start drawing the Manga / Anime face in profile view. You can see that the diagonal line that we drew is a guideline for you to place the forehead and chin line. At the 2nd horizontal line is where you start the curve for the nose. At the bottom horizontal line is where you start the lips.
Now draw the eye behind the diaganol line, in between the first and second horizontal line (the same space as the ear).
Now fill in the details of the eyes. We don’t have a profile view eye tutorial yet, but we do have 2 eye tutorials ( Drawing Female Eyes) and ( Drawing Male Eyes )… these might help you draw in the details of the eyes..basically, draw a large oval in the eye, fill it in, except for an oval highlight at the top right of the eye).
