They are considered to be of most population in this area. This is because in the early history mane believed that they started in this area many years ago.
Step 1: Materials
First gather your materials. I have 3 basic tools for drawing here. -mechanical pencil (or a regular pencil it's your choice) -eraser (I prefer General's TriTip) -paper (I'm using a Strathmore Drawing paper pad) I also like to listen to music while drawing :)
Step 2: Starting Out
First draw a circle. Shown in the first picture. Then draw a reference line across the circle as shown in the second. This is the line where the ear will start and the eyes will sit. If you'd like you can divide the face one more time from top to bottom as ill show in the third picture though I don't like to use it anymore.
Step 3: Getting There
Now to make this circle look like a wolf. Add ears starting at the line going across and then the second. The second ear is trickier but don't worry you'll get it. If you added the second line going doing start the second ear from there and go down a bit farther than half way. Father that add cheek fluff and a muzzle.
Step 4: Eyes and Such
Now define the muzzle and lips how you'd like. And now eyes. There's many different eye styles you can do so make your own and mix up different styles you like! For this style of anthro I use a triangular like eye shape. Don't forget pupils and shine spots if you want them.
Step 5: Finishing Touches
Now for a neck. You can do the basic shape as shown in the first picture, or a different one as shown in the second. Or even make your own! Then add some fluff or a hair style/poof if you'd like, ear definition and go over the lines you'd like to keep with a pen or lining marker (I didn't do this as I was just sketching out for this).

Start by drawing the the head, neck and shoulders. First make a vertical line line through the middle of your drawing area to help you make sure that both sides of the head/neck/shoulders are equal in width. You can draw the head by first making a rough circle for it’s top and then projecting the lower portion of the face down f…

- Draw the ears fairly long as a large part of them will be covered by the hair in later steps. Make the overall shape of the ears curve outwards from the head and then back towards one another. You can also add some tiny splits on the ends of the ears to show that they are covered by fur.
Step 3 – Position The Facial Features
- Place the facial features as shown in the above example. The proportions used are the same as for most other tutorials here on AnimeOutline. Draw the eyes just below the the horizontal halfway point of the head. Make the pupils round and with the inner ends of the top eyelids slightly lowered. Draw the top of the pupils slightly covered by the top eyelids and leave some space bet…

- To make the character look a little more wild and wolf like draw somewhat messy hair in large clumps. To make the drawing process a bit easier to understand you can break the hair down into three parts. The front (red), sides (green) and back (blue). Step 5 – Draw The Ear Fluff
- To make the ears look a little more interesting and wolf like add some fur/fluff sticking out of them. Draw the fur in random sized clumps pointing in slightly different directions.
Step 6 – Draw The Details of The Face
- At this stage you should have a pretty much finished basic outline of the character so you can move on to some of the smaller details. Step 7 – Finish The Line Drawing
- To finish the line drawing add the collar bones and a hint of the clothes. In this case the clothes will be lined with fur to again emphasize the wolf like character. Step 8 – Apply Color
- You can color the character with whatever colors you prefer but for this example we will go with grey for the ears and a blue (with a bit of grey in it) for the hair/eyes/eyebrows. Wolves are often grey in color and tend to be associated with winter snow covered woods, the blue hair color will help emphasize this. Step 9 – Add Shading & Finish The Drawing
- To finish the drawing add some basic shadow in places where they are most likely to be. You can also add some grey inside the ear fluff to act as both shadows and color patterns of the fur.
