Kousuke Oono, the manga's original creator, even praised the animation style for maintaining the manga's deadpan comedic timing. While the motionless animation may not appeal to all audiences, The Way of the Househusband was never intended to be a highly detailed anime.
Published in the online manga magazine Kurage Bunch since 2018, The Way of the Househusband follows an ex- yakuza boss who retires from crime to become a househusband. The series was adapted into a live-action television drama by Nippon TV in 2020. A Netflix original net animation (ONA) anime series produced by J.C.Staff was released in April 2021.

The production team behind the anime is J.C. Staff who have previously animated other Netflix Originals such as The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. 2, Back Street Girls, and Hi-Score Girl. When is The Way of the Househusband season one Netflix release date?
The Way of the House Husband (極主夫道, Gokushufudō) is an anime series, based on the Gokushufudou: The Way of the House Husband manga by Kousuke Oono. It was released worldwide on Netflix on April 8, 2021.
Way of the Househusband uses a motionless animation style. This means that there's little to no movement in the characters between the scenes. Most of what you see is their lips moving. Many anime fans are used to shows having fluid motion to understand how different characters feel.

Although the show's humor is easy to follow, a certain level of knowledge of both Japanese culture and the yakuza are necessary in order to understand all the jokes. The violence is minor, but the level of profanity in the series isn't appropriate for younger viewers.
Tatsu, an infamous and feared yakuza boss nicknamed "the Immortal Dragon", retires from crime to become a househusband so that he can support Miku, his kyariaūman wife.
Tatsu (Hiroshi Tamaki) is 38 years old. He was once a legendary yakuza and was known as "Immortal Dragon" because he was so feared. He quit the yakuza and married Miku.
They first met when Miku found him injured after Tatsu endured a bloody battle, to which she carried him to safety. After an unspecified amount of time, they got married and Tatsu also quit the yakuza for her. He protected her when she was about to be hit by a volleyball once.
There's lots of insults ("jerk," "stupid," etc.), and mild sexual innuendo, including references to someone being perverted, and plenty of tight, stomach and cleavage revealing outfits on female cast members. Assaults are audible, and faces are sometimes shown with cuts and bruises.
Definition of househusband : a man who does housekeeping usually while his spouse or partner earns the family income.

In the criminal underworld, Tatsu was once a legendary member of the Yazuka, who once defeated a rival gang single-handedly while only equipped with a lead pipe. The “Immortal Tatsu” strikes fear into the hearts and minds of police officers and criminals alike. Soon after disappearing, Tatsu resurfaces, now trying to make an honest living as a house husband to his wife Miku. Becoming a househusband poses a new challenge for Tatsu as he must contend with kitchen mishaps and dreaded supermarket sales.
Kenjirô Tsuda has been confirmed to star as the former legendary Yakuza. Kenjirô Tsuda has voiced many anime characters over the year, in particular, the most well-known of the bunch is arguably Seto Kaiba from the Yu-Gi-Oh!.
What is ultimately the most groundbreaking aspect of Tatsu’s character is his respect towards others, particularly his wife. Miku is the financially successful half of their partnership. She supports their household by working full-time as a professional designer. Her decisions to leave the housework to Tatsu and continue working after getting married are never questioned by her husband. Instead, Tatsu responds by feeling even more motivated to support his wife by doing his best to care for their home. As a result of their mutual respect, they're portrayed as an enviable and powerful couple.
Whether Tatsu must dress or dance in an unconventional manner, he is never bogged down by his sense of shame. Pride is a component of traditional masculinity that is often confused with confidence, but the two are very different concepts. Pride might stand in the way of Tatsu dancing alongside older women, but confidence is the reason he is able to overcome his pride and fulfill his duties.
Tatsu (Jonah Scott) is an infamous yakuza boss who’s traded in the gritty world of crime for a much calmer day-to-day life as a househusband to his salarywoman wife Miku (Laura Post) in the new Netflix anime series The Way Of The Househusband. He takes care of domestic duties — like doing laundry, cooking, and cleaning — while Miku pursues her career. His adventures in taking care of the home for Miku often clash comedically with his intense persona and how intimidating he looks and behaves. There’s certainly something sweet about Tatsu being so invested in running the household, though it’s also played for laughs.
The voices are fantastic. The dialogue is believable. The stories are short, bite-sized, and never overstay their welcome. The show isn’t poking fun at Tatsu for taking care of the woman he loves, and that’s refreshing. But there’s one glaring issue with the show that will make it difficult for some fans to engage: its animation, or lack of it.
Our Take: When it comes to the source material, The Way of the Househusband is excellent. The tone is warm, familiar, and genuinely funny. It’s entertaining to watch Tatsu go about his daily chores to support his wife. They can often result in some hilarious confrontations between his ex-yakuza brethren, as well as ne’er-do-wells who think they can challenge him just because he’s left the world of organized crime behind.
I Can't Understand What My Husband Is Saying is a slice-of-life romance anime about an otaku, Hajime Tsunashi, who spends most of his life inside working on his blog. His wife, Kaoru, is a hard-working office assistant who's quite normal in comparison — except for the fact that she's a rowdy drunk.
The Way Of The Househusband is an anime about a former yakuza boss who becomes a househusband. Tatsu, once known as the Legendary Immortal Dragon, left that life behind and no longer has anything to do with the yakuza — even if his mean-looking face suggests otherwise.
In this series, Tatsu does everything he can to make his wife's life easier, as she's an important and hardworking woman. He worries about making sure everything is perfect in their home and that there's food on the table. He also struggles with choosing the right gifts and making his wife's family less scared of him.
This anime is about Nasa Yuzaki, a young man who ranked first in the national mock exams. However, an unfortunate incident occurs in which he is struck by a truck and saved by a beautiful girl.
Despite the popularity of romantic subplots, there aren't many anime that focus on everyday married life. These ten break the mold.
They're both quirky and unique in their own rights and work so well together. They do have their ups and downs, but always find a way to navigate through their struggles, even when Kaoru has a hard time understanding her husband's otaku ways.
Married couples in anime aren't as popular as many would hope. However, there are many great series about anime couples and their married lives. These are usually slice-of-life anime, which depict the everyday routines of the characters. This also means that these couples experience mostly normal lives with incredible highs and heartbreaking lows, showing a more realistic side to married life.
