Having achieved his goal and taking the place of the new L, in these one-shots Near is far older. During the first chapter, it is four years after the end of the main series’ manga. With a two-year time skip before the next chapter Near is around 26 years old at the end of all current stories set in the world of Death Note.

TV Drama. Near (ニア, Nia) is the younger of L's two successors, raised in Wammy's House—Watari's orphanage for gifted children in Winchester, England.
10 He Is L's Successor Two orphans from Wammy's House were worthy of being L's successor, Near and Mello. However, L died before he decided who would take his name.
Mello (メロ, Mero) is the older of L's two successors raised at Wammy's House, Watari's orphanage for gifted children in Winchester, England. When Roger asks that Mello and Near work together to capture Kira, Mello refuses, pointing out the differences between them.

Why He's So Dishevelled. Once more, this is part of his charm: he loves sugar, doesn't sleep, always squats, and never wears shoes or neat clothes. His physical appearance is just one more quirk to endear the audience to him, like many a superhero or supervillain costume.
Despite being named Near, the character was credited as "BOY" in the film's ending credits. Similarly, there was nothing known about Near's birth name in the film. In the anime adaptation, Near is voiced by Noriko Hidaka in Japanese and by Cathy Weseluck in the English version.

Whenever people agree with me I always feel I must be wrong. Watari appears to be a well mannered gentleman who's highly intelligent and has a close connection to L. WATari is like L's FATHER!
Mello is introduced alongside Near as a potential substitute for L. Both Mello and Near were raised at Wammy's House, an orphanage established by Watari, L's assistant. However, Mello refuses to work with Near to capture a murderer dubbed "Kira"....Mello (Death Note)Mihael KeehlAliasMello M8 more rows
As stated in the wikia, L's age is 24-25 years old. Also, in Death Note 13: How to Read, it is stated that L was born on October 31, 1979 and died on November 5, 2004.
Near plays with toys in SPK headquarters. Near shows much more emotion and displays far more facial expressions in the manga than he does in the anime. For example, when the SPK members were killed around him in the anime, Near keeps a stern look, but he is visibly upset in the manga.
Near (ニア, Nia) is the younger of L 's two successors, raised in Wammy's House — Watari 's orphanage for gifted children in Winchester, England. After L's death, Near begins his investigation of the Kira case, gathering evidence over a period of four years. Near takes his findings to the President of the United States and reveals himself to be the true successor of L. Soon after, Near becomes the head of the Special Provision for Kira and continues the hunt for Kira. After making contact with " L " ( Light Yagami ), Near begins to suspect that he is also Kira.
Near and the second L then agree to share information, Near tells the second L that Mello is behind the kidnappings and what Wammy's House is , while the second L tells Near everything the Task Force knows about the Death Note. The Task Force eventually retrieves the notebook and defeats Mello.
Because all of the data gathered by L had been deleted , Near starts from scratch.
In the anime, Near's pants are light blue. In the Death Note One-Shot Special, which takes place three years after the end of the Kira case, Near is shown to have sharp bags under his eyes, slightly longer hair, and to have undergone a growth spurt.
As stated in Death Note 13: How to Read, "he is only able to display his true deductive powers when he has the support of his members." The book also states that Near is distant from people because he is sensitive. Near is rather codependent, as seen when he asks Rester to accompany him on his flight to Japan due to having never flown alone.
Near is very intelligent, although his childish appearance and demeanor can cause others, such as David Hoope, to question his abilities. He has an obsession with solving complex problems and views an investigation as solving a puzzle. He is highly observational and was once seen piecing together a puzzle that was almost entirely colored white. He is proficient when it comes to multitasking and is able to monitor multiple computer screens at once. Near also appears to be ambidextrous, playing darts with his left hand and stacking dice with his right.
He's sixteen years old at the end of Paranormal Liberation Arc, but he doesn't look a day over 12, biceps or not.
While there are certain traits that offer clues as to how old they are, this can be intentionally misleading on occasion (for any number of reasons.) For instance, some characters might choose to appear as younger, while others have retained their youth due to their intrinsic powers , and still more simply haven't been able to physically match their age for presumably biological reasons.
Kurama is a teenage boy, and he looks like one (albeit with long red-magenta hair.) When he reverts to his real identity, however, he turns into a majestic being, all clad in white and noble in demeanor.
Ajay's natural habitat is his bedroom, which means that his time is spent staring at his TV screen in a hypnotic coma. He tends to rant about the lack of quality programming in his life — but the amount of content he consumes would make even Galactus gassy.
Granted, he already resembles a 90-year-old man (with an uncharacteristically beefy anatomy), but he's actually at least two millennia old. The truth is that Yamamoto is likely much older, because he seems like a middle-aged man in a flashback scene set 2,100 years in the past.
The art style that most anime characters are designed with is mostly universal — huge eyes and relatively smaller mouth being present in nearly every iteration. However, given the vast range of other features, such as hair color, skin tone, expression, and so on, it can be difficult, if not impossible, to pinpoint their ages unless clarified in ...
L's successor, Near, or N, is ridiculously smart, which is of course a requirement for someone in his position. As intelligent as he might be, he has a penchant for puerility, which leads to rather juvenile attributes.
Aang, the protagonist of Avatar: The Last Airbender, is actually 112 years old at the start of the series. Biologically speaking, he's only 12 years old after he trapped himself inside an iceberg during a violent war. Katara and Sokka rescue Aang from the iceberg, and they accompany him throughout his journey of mastering the four elements.
Made In Abyss is a 2017 anime adapted from the manga of the same title by Akihito Tsukushi. The second season of Made In Abyss and an action role-playing game is set to release in 2022. Riko is the main 12-year-old protagonist of Made In Abyss. She lives in an orphanage in Orth, where a massive hole called the abyss is in the middle of town.
Gon Freecss is the main protagonist of the anime/manga series Hunter X Hunter. This favorite anime of many has been stuck on hiatus since 2019, disappointing Hunter fans. At the beginning of Hunter X Hunter, Gon is only 12 years old and is attempting to get his Hunter's License.
At the beginning of the original Naruto series, Naruto Uzumaki is only 12 years old. This makes a lot of sense considering how immature this hot-headed ninja is. However, despite his endless pranks, Naruto is forced to grow up early due to the death of his parents and being the jinchuriki of the Nine Tails.
Emma is another pre-teen forced to grow up early because of her tragic circumstances. Emma is the main protagonist of the dark anime/manga series The Promised Neverland. The Promised Neverland goes down in history as one of the best-selling mangas of all time.
When viewers first meet one of the most recognizable anime characters of all time, he is only 11 years old. Goku is the main protagonist of the well-appreciated Dragon Ball franchise. Like every 11-year-old, Goku can be childish.
Ash has been continuously catching Pokémon since the anime series began in 1997. Unlike the lifelong fans of the Pokémon show and video games, Ash defies mortality and stays the same age. Somehow, his forever companion, Pikachu, is still alive too.
Manga…. Near is told he cant be L because misa was still out there and now its proven and known she still has the eyes and lives longer than any human. Making her a threat to International security (especially since she got away from police somehow. They assume she still have pieces of her deathnote but clearly not alot to waste like before.) Near is upset but respects th
We go on to see it properly in the one shot, where another shinigami drops a notebook to earth and someone who picked it up starts to cause trouble, but Near doesn’t take them seriously and he addresses the world to dismiss the new Kira since he doesn’t consider them a threat, and when he does so, he addresses the world as L, because he is officially L’s successor.
His subordinates still call him Near, but that is because Near seems to take a while to deem himself the new L (perhaps out of respect for the original L). But he was already
Near won. Near was the successor to L, so it can also be translated to saying that L still won in the end. Everything was wrapped up nicely. Near’s victory gives the message that even after death we may uave responsibilities to follow, no matter what, they should be followed. Almost like complementing the poem “Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening” by Robert Frost, which is my favorite poem.
Saayu’s kidnapping: After Kitamura’s death, Mello took Saayu Yagami as his hostage. This time she wasn’t dead, thus Near inferred that she must be close to someone on the investigation team, probably also to Kira.
This was crucial when Near made a guess of Light Yagami being L and Kira. Many thought this to be a wild guess, but after Mello’s conclusion that Light Yagami is indeed the second L, Near’s theory seemed to be true.
You can even see the disparity in things like crowd scenes. The entire Japanese police force doesn’t seem to contain a single woman. Wammy’s House is full of smart little boys, with maybe a couple of girls visible at the back if you squint. The two female students in To-Oh university pop up to provide commentary on whether Light or L is cuter. (To be fair, I appreciate the lone L-fangirl, but it would be nice if she got to discuss, say, the tennis match as well.) The SPK was a sausage fest before and after Mello killed almost everyone. I don’t think there were any women in the Mafia? Possibly some lapdancers? Everyone at the United Nations meetings at the beginning were men (!!!! That doesn’t even reflect real life!!)
