Instead, he chooses to join the Occult Research Club; due to the freedom it allows him in attending, he goes to visit his dying grandfather in the hospital every day. On his deathbed, his grandfather instills two powerful messages within Yuji: "always help people" and "die surrounded by people". These two ideas seemingly stem from his grandfather's own regrets. After his grandfather's death, Yuji interprets these messages as one statement: everyone deserves "a proper death". He is then confronted by Megumi Fushiguro, a sorcerer who informs him of a high-grade cursed charm talisman at his school that Yuji recently made contact with. His friends at the Occult Club unsealed the talisman, a rotting finger, which attracted Curses to the school, creatures that are brought about through negative emotions and are strengthened by consuming magical powers present in sorcerers or such charms. Unable to defeat the Curses due to his lack of magical powers, Yuji swallows the finger to protect Megumi and his friends and becomes the host of Ryomen Sukuna, a powerful Curse. Due to Sukuna's evil nature, all sorcerers are required to exorcise him (and by extension, Yuji) immediately. However, despite being possessed, Yuji is still able to retain control over his body for the most part. Seeing this, Satoru Gojo, Megumi's teacher, decides to take him to the Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School to propose a plan to his superiors: postpone Yuji's death sentence until he consumes all of Sukuna's fingers, allowing them to kill Sukuna once and for all.
In Jujutsu Kaisen, all living beings emanate an energy called Cursed Energy, which arises from negative emotions that naturally flow throughout the body. Normal people cannot control this flow in their bodies. As a result, they continually lose Cursed Energy , resulting in the birth of Curses, a race of spiritual beings whose primary desire is to bring harm to humanity. These curses are shown as gruesome monsters.

The anime adaptation of Jujutsu Kaisen has been widely anticipated since its announcement in 2019. The manga series, which is currently being serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump, has gained a wide readership over the past couple of years, so fans have definitely been apprehensive and excited to see how well animation studio MAPPA will do ...
While it’s always possible that there could be a sequel series or a second season announced later on, the anime is currently only set to be 24 episodes. Considering the fact that there are more than 100 chapters of the manga and counting, it seems likely that the entirety of the series is not going to end up being adapted as an anime. This means the series will have to pick and choose which chapters and story arcs will be in the anime.
But being animated gives the television series space to really push the comedic moments. Using animation and voice acting lets them do more visual gags and puns and to advance the hilarity of moments that are already fairly funny in the telling of the story in the manga.
While most anime series actually spend a lot of time trying to cut parts of the manga that are less relevant or which take up too much space, Jujutsu Kaisen actually makes room to expand on the world-building and the characters in the series.
As in much sho nen anime, Jujutsu Kaisen has a lot of characters in an ensemble cast. In the manga, there’s a little more room to develop these characters and their relationships with each other. But in the anime, there’s a limited amount of space to really delve into who these people are, especially considering how much there is to cover in ...
8 The Death Of Yuji’s Grandfather Has More Weight In The Anime. In the manga, the death of Yuji’s grandfather definitely takes a toll on Yuji, in that it changes his life for the worse. But beyond that, it doesn’t seem to personally affect Yuji that much, and he doesn’t spend a lot of time reacting to it.
This can mean that not every action sequence is super-detailed or long-lasting since drawing those sequences takes a long time. The anime has more room to give them a lot of excitement and to really get into the details of what’s happening, extending them into longer sequences.

As far as the anime is concerned, Jujutsu Kaisen is far from over. The first season – consisting of 24 episodes that aired in 2020 and 2021 – adapted the first six manga arcs. Now, since Jujutsu Kaisen is a faithful adaptation of the manga, there is no reason to doubt that the future seasons, of which we are quite certain, will continue this trend.
