Remember, there’s only so much time in a day (or weekend). We work very hard to bring a wide variety of events, panels, and activities to Anime Expo. As much as we’d love to share them all with all of our attendees, it’s likely that you won’t be able to do or see everything.
“Vintage,” historical, any non-current uniforms, and any military or police-style costumes may be addressed at the convention’s discretion (i.e., Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid, etc.) Anime Expo® and the SPJA reserve the right to modify and/or update this policy at any time. Ticketed Events Some events during Anime Expo may also require a ticket, in addition to a badge. You can buy your tickets online ahead of time or you can purchase them onsite at the Ticketing Booth, based on availability.

Ages 14-17: Anyone 14 and older must purchase a 4-day or 1-day general attendee badge. Attendees under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult to pick up their badge. We recommend attendees ages 14-17 have a parent or guardian close by for the duration of the event.

After canceling their 2020 convention and going virtual in 2021, Anime Expo will return to Los Angeles as a live event in 2022. Following two years of setbacks due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, Anime Expo has announced that the convention will return as a live, in-person event in 2022.

Bring your Anime Expo badge, the confirmation email from Showclix (printout or via mobile device) and a valid photo ID showing your date of birth. Attendees under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult, who will be required to show a government-issued photo ID, in order to pick up a ticket or wristband.
Attendees are permitted to bring in food and beverage for personal consumption only. This means only food and drink that you would be able to consume individually. Food and drink brought in bulk will not be permitted into the convention center. Refillable water bottles will be allowed — in fact, we encourage them!

Attendees typically walk around 5-10 miles per day. Bring sunscreen (and maybe a hat, too). Most lines are located outside of the building, and while they are tented, it's possible you may spend some time in the sun while walking around. Set aside money for food and bring a refillable water bottle.
If you’re 13 and under , the adult present when you pick up your badge must also have purchased a badge and accompany you throughout the duration of the event. The resale of tickets (“scalping”) is against the law and will not be permitted. Reselling online will result in badge and ticket (s) being cancelled without refund. Scalping/ reselling onsite, in or around the Los Angeles Convention Center or LA Live area, is prohibited and strictly enforced.
Before you apply for the disabled credential and a disabled credential for your helper, you must first make sure that you (the attendee) and helper have registered and paid for a badge on the Anime Expo website. You and the helper can also purchase a badge at Registration if you are on site.
