The crux of Naruto is based on the bonds between Naruto , Sasuke and Sakura. Yet this friendship is not ‘real’. It’s a friendship built on a pile of shit, to be brutally honest. The dynamics between Naruto , Sasuke and Sakura is one based on lust, envy and bitter feelings.
Kishimoto (author of Naruto) said himself that he drew inspiration of the characters and concepts in Naruto from Hunter X Hunter because he considers Yoshihiro Togashi (author of HxH) as his favorite manga author. Some similarities are: Naruto and Gon: both are blockheads but very compassionate to other people.
A lot of people compare the goal of Naruto to that of Gon, saying that Naruto has a more complex goal, but I disagree. You see , a good story is not about the goal, it's about the journey. Naruto's own journey is done very well , but that of most of the other characters is subpar.

The current manga chapters have been composed into 36 tankobon volumes in Japan by Shueisha, and while there were rumors about a new installment, there is no concrete information. This has led to fans rightfully believing that the series has been canceled and will never finish its legendary run.
Hunter x Hunter, created by Yoshihiro Togashi, is one of the most popular and well-known series in the world, and despite its long breaks, it remains a classic to this day.
While the studios can certainly continue animating the series by diverging from the manga and adding in non-cannon material, it will only result in a half-baked attempt on their side at holding the fan’s attention.
