I've started to notice lately that the vast majority of anime (that I can find, anyway) seems to have opening (OP) and ending (ED) sequences which are 1 minute and 30 seconds long. Some examples (though I'm sure there are lots that I haven't covered): Fullmetal Alchemist: There are 5 OPs and 5 EDs, all of which are 1:30 long.
Sometimes, a really ambitious show will allot 3 months or more of production to each episode, but that's not the norm for most anime. For an average TV series (though again this is by no means definitive) each team will start with two months or more to complete each episode,...
GaoGaiGar and Neon Genesis Evangelion: The OPs are 1:30 long, though the EDs are only 1:00 in duration. Cardcaptor Sakura: The OPs are 1:30, did not check the ED durations. There do seem to be some exceptions (again, far from an exhaustive list): One Piece: Though some episodes fit this pattern, others have 3-minute OPs and no EDs.
Here are some more iconic anime openings that stand as the best of all-time. This is probably one of the most well known anime OP’s of its generation. While it’s nearly 30 years old at this point, Yuko Matsutani’s “Lum no Love Song” is still beloved by many.
Some of the best opening scenes in anime movies are found in the classics that set the bar for everyone in the industry, but there are plenty in modern anime as well.
Different anime openings denote different seasons Both are supposed to give viewers a feel for what they're about to see, but anime sets itself apart by including longer, elaborately animated sequences that often foreshadow crucial plot points or suggest more details regarding the characters and world.
Soundtracks breathe life into an anime, and that is especially true for opening songs. It's these minute-and-a-half teasers that give viewers a taste of exactly what's going to go down in that particular series. And sometimes, some anime opening songs just far outshine the rest in animation, quality, and catchiness.

OP is the standard term for the opening song/credits of an anime series. Longer series may have multiple OPs, often performed by well-known bands or pop artists. In some anime clubs, it's common for members to sing along with the OPs as they watch, though OPs may also be skipped in some clubs to save time.

The director usually just picks a song from that pile and uses it. They might tweak the lyrics a little bit to fit the show better. The record label will then go back and finish the song with the artist of their choosing, who may or may not be a voice actor featured in the show.

Typical OVA and television anime openings have always ranged from 70 to 110 seconds long. The average TV opening animation sequence is right around 90 seconds. Unusually long openings run over two minutes. The second Hiatari Ryoko opening animation runs about 2:20. The longest openings generally top out at 150 seconds, in part because an opening credits sequence that runs two-and-a-half minutes already feels quite long. More than that feels tedious. The opening of 1974’s Majokko Meg-chan television series is 150 seconds. The One Piece television series has always had long opening credits, but its 8th through current 13th openings have been 2:30. However, in recent years the One Pice television series has used a lengthy opening credits sequence because it doesn’t have an ending credits roll.
However, in recent years the One Pice television series has used a lengthy opening credits sequence because it doesn’t have an ending credits roll. The shortest opening sequences are typically found on short shows. Two minute long episodes of Kuruneko have a 20 second long opening animation.
the reason why most anime intros are 1 min and 30 seconds is because of people’s attention span I mean people can only watch something for so long so they keep the intro short to keep the interest in the story and it’s usall for anime tv shows to have 1 min and 30 seconds intro why also because it’s a usall thing in all anime tv shows ...
Made in Abyss - This used to be in my top ten but since it doesn’t have an end and the manga is on a sort of hiatus, it’s here. It’s beautifully terrifying.
Sometimes, a really ambitious show will allot 3 months or more of production to each episode, but that's not the norm for most anime. For an average TV series (though again this is by no means definitive) each team will start with two months or more to complete each episode, but after a few episodes schedule creep sets in, and start date will slip later and later. Some episodes will get seven weeks. Then six. There are times when whole episodes are produced in as little as four or five weeks. With digital animation, it's getting easier to cover up quick-and-shoddy animation with effects like lighting, mist, different coloring, and impressive-looking CG layers that are cleverly re-positioned and re-rendered from earlier episodes.
The first bit of animation is a little hard to pin down, since some test animation is often done early on by the core team of animators, both for promotion and to attract investment in the project. Some of this animation usually finds its way into the final product.

12 "Battlecry" by Nujabes/Shing02 – Samurai Champloo. Hip-Hop isn’t often used in anime openings, but Nujabes and Shing02’s “Battlecry” suits Samurai Champloo’s opening credits perfectly. The series itself mixes in modern day Japanese characteristics with hip-hop and elements of the chanbara genre.
“Again” is the first opening for Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. The opening theme takes the perspective of Edward Elric and the lessons he must learn along the way of recovering his brother and his bodies.
That we should all have confidence in ourselves even in the darkest times. This is fitting because of the rough times Lelouch goes through in the series. “Colors” is the opening for the first 12 episodes of the first season of Code Geass.
