My question here is about the life cycle of a manga becoming an anime. From my understanding, an artist or mangaka creates their comic called manga and it gets published by a major studio if it's deemed worthy. From there if it cultivates a big enough fan-base it becomes licensed by a studio like Viz, Funimation or Bandai.

With manga, there is already a running plot, solid characters, and a fictional universe. The producers only need to add color, movement, and voices to make them into an anime. This rids them of the need to ideate a good storyline, create characters, and draw their own setting. Now sometimes they do.Sep 4, 2021
