Never mind the rest of Nagatoro’s friends that are even more non-plausible and unlikeable than she is. That being said the story for what it is isn’t unbearable.

On October 23, 2021, the official Twitter page for the show announced its return. Again, the show will be available through Crunchyroll.
Although fans were hoping that the anime would last for over 20 episodes, the adaptation concluded with Episode 12.
It's also the last episode of the anime's first season.

Season 1 ended with a legitimate kiss from Nagatoro to Senpai, but no confession. There's plenty of material left uncovered to warrant an additional season.
