Both try to set up the people who are in love with them with others in the harem. Both are comedic harems centering around a female lead obsessed with otaku culture. Kiss Him, Not Me has more yaoi aspect while Hamefura has more girls love, both are enjoyable regardless of whether you like GL, BL, both, or none.

When I think it takes itself too seriously, it then becomes a parody, but when I begin to think it's a parody, the series spends too much time on romance. The series makes more sense when you consider the author is a BL manga author. She has written both doujinshi and professional shounen-ai and yaoi titles.
Overall, Kiss Him, Not Me was an enjoyable anime. If you're tired of the same old reverse harem anime and want one where the protagonist is a fujoshi, I'd definitely recommend this one. Who knows? You may ship one of the boys with Kae, but you may ship the boys with each other even more!

#SanrioBoys is Confirmed Gay. Nevertheless, what Sanrio Boys does for its fans is special. Most BL (boys' love) and yaoi (gay pornographic) anime exist in a domestic world without prejudice or internalized homophobia.
The series, which has one season out, is a product of Brain's Base and was distributed in the U.S. by Crunchyroll.

Etymology. Harīm (حريم) or “harem” is originally an Arabic word. It means a delegated private house for the women of a rich Muslim household. The usual occupants include multiple wives, concubines, relatives, and even servants.
Kae Serinuma is what you'd call a "fujoshi." When she sees boys getting along with each other, she loves to indulge in wild fantasies! One day her favorite anime character dies and the shock causes her to lose a ton of weight. Then four hot guys at school ask her out, but that isn't exciting to her at all — she'd rather see them date each other!
I found this anime very funny, relatable and entertaining, but I am surprised that none of the previous reviews have mentioned anything bad about it. That is not to say that this is a bad anime.
I hate this manga with a burning passion and anyone that likes it is weird imo. Like, the main characters annoying even after she gets the guy, and the whole thing with weight is weird and ED-endorsing.
In Kiss him, Not me the change is physical as the Female lead loses weight. They are both reverse gardens with both boys and girls falling in love.
Both anime involve the main character being a Fujoshi/Fudanshi (AKA Lover of Boys Love Manga/ Yaoi.). The main character is OBSESSED with two guys in a romantic relationship; so much so, that they don't care for being in a relationship themselves. The main character is also accompanied by a Fujoshi best friend, in which they talk about their favorite pairings.
He turns out to have a deep love for Boys' Love. He could live on Boys' Love alone! Fudanshi Koukou Seikatsu is a hilarious slice-of-life comedy about Fudanshi Sakaguchi and his jolly gang.
As an overweight child, Makabe Masamune was mercilessly teased and bullied by one particular girl, Adagaki Aki. Determined to one day exact his revenge upon her, Makabe begins a rigorous regimen of self-improvement and personal transformation. Years later, Masamune re-emerges as a new man.
While Kae (the protagonist of Kiss Him Not Me) did not try to lose weight and is initially scared of her potential suitors, Masamune purposefully sought out his new body specifically to become popular with girls. However both characters have a great deal of trouble adjusting to life in their new bodies and hilarity ensues. Both characters are quite endearing and the supporting characters in both anime are interesting. We also are not sure at this point in either anime who the main character will end up with or how their relationships will play out. Personally I am looking forward to more from both shows!
Kiss Him is a reverse harem, while Highschool Life is more comedy, but these two pair rather well.
