Misa doesn't die in the anime itself. But then, of course, it's actually a little more complicated than that. Misa's last scene is at the end of the final episode of Death Note. We see her standing upon the edge of a building on her own, on the other side of some safety railing.
Although she fails to kill Ryuzaki (whose name was written on a Death Note prior similar to L), she commits suicide by writing her own name, scribbled "Misa Amane dies in Light Yagami's hands".
Misa passed away on February 14, 2011. Though he never put it into the story itself, Tsugumi Ohba, the writer of the series, has said that she got depressed after Light died and killed herself. She was born on Christmas and died on Valentine's Day.
Ryuk informs Light that humans who have used the Death Note are unable to enter either Heaven or Hell and shows Light his name written in the notebook. Light yells at Ryuk and jumps through him, trying in vain to stop his death, before dying in his father's arms.

At the end of the anime, shortly after Light's death, Misa is seen standing on the ledge of a tall building alone. Although it is not shown, it is theorized that she committed suicide following Light's death.
In the manga and anime, Rem tells Misa that she is a female Shinigami.

In part one, Misa falls in love with Light and users her Death Note to assist him as he attempts to avoid a task force formed to hunt him down. This winds up getting Misa incarcerated. She ultimately loses her memories, Shinigami, and half her lifespan.
One of the most important characters in the progression of the show is Misa Amane.
Misa Amane was born on Xmas Day and died on Valentine's Day. She would see that as heartbreakingly romantic, when in reality it's just heartbreaking. Nevertheless, the interconnecting of life and death in those two dates does bespoke a love issue underlying her grisly end.
Bloodied, raving, insane and disappointed to a deep soul level, Light never once turns to Misa, safely ensconced in the luxury of Teito's top floor apartment. As far as she's concerned, he simply let her rot there, while he walked away and vanished unutterably from their common law marriage.
Misa Amane has dressed carefully for her existence's final scene. The actress has manicured her nails, painting them purple; adorning two rings to match in gleaming purple and blue/green. Her make-up is applied to perfection.
Her creator Tsugumi Ohba dumped his character in a hotel room and forgot about her, because he self-admittedly couldn't find 'a situation to fit her in'. It was only by the reappraisal of the manual, in Death Note 13: How to Read, that the author seemed contrite about his choices.
Then Misa is nominally set free. However, she is given the usage and run of a penthouse suite in the same hotel, and Misa's exuberance now holds no bounds. Just before Light leaves towards the Yellow Box Warehouse and his eventual, unforeseen death, he speaks with his hyper fiancée against over the telephone.
Tetsuro Araki certainly did. At least the director of Death Note's anime met Misa Amane halfway, marrying up that maybe plot titbit inserted rather belatedly as a footnote in the manual by Ohba.
It's safe to say she used more than one shinigami notebook and incurred such penalties upon her mentality from all. It doesn't matter than her memories of mass slaughter are all gone. This isn't a memory. It's an indelible mark in common to all human Death Note owners.
Misa is portrayed in the Death Note film series by Erika Toda. Misa's role is very similar to her canon self in that she uses her Death Note to support Kira and she falls in love with Light. Her career is also further developed with her being an actress, TV personality, and singer.
A year before the start of the series, Misa witnessed the murder of her family during an attempted home robbery . The trial against her parents' murderer continued over a long stretch of time, during which opinions that he was falsely accused began to surface. After he was killed by Kira, Misa felt justice had been served, prompting her to become a loyal Kira supporter.
As an alternate solution, Rem eventually convinces Misa, who had originally refused, not wanting to forget her love for Light, to give up ownership of the Death Note. Rem assures Misa that her feelings for Light Yagami will not go away and that she will simply forget that Light is Kira.
Misa is a short, slender, attractive young woman with long, straight, golden-blonde hair, most commonly styled with a portion of her hair in pigtails tied with red bands, but occasionally worn loose as well. In the anime, it seems that she was a brunette at one point. In the manga, her eyes are predominantly light brown; however, they have also been shown as green. In the anime, they alternate between light brown and blue. Her eyes turn bright red while using the power of the Shinigami Eyes, which allow her to see a person's name and lifespan above their head. In the games, her eyes are usually light brown but have also been seen as pink. Misa also appears to have black hair in the movie, which she was wearing in pigtails throughout the film.
After gaining a Death Note, she seeks out Kira in order to thank him for killing the man who murdered her family and to offer him her help. Having made the trade for the Shinigami Eyes, Misa learns that the identity of Kira is Light Yagami. After a meeting with Light, she decides to dedicate her life to helping Light however she can, ...
A supervisor states that the section will be cut due to controversies.
Misa is very outgoing and is shown to be quite popular due to her career. She attracts a large crowd while visiting Light near his school. She is hyperactive, impulsive, and otherwise childlike, evidenced by her tendency to speak in the third person. Despite being considered idiotic by many, Misa is shown to have moments of intelligence, such as when she successfully tricks Kyosuke Higuchi into revealing himself to be the Yotsuba Kira. However, even though she is more powerful than Light as Kira, she is very careless in her acts as the Second Kira, which leads to her being arrested and put in confinement on suspicion that she is is the second Kira. As she likely didn't know the Death Note could manipulate victims, and thus mailed the tapes herself; failed to ensure there was no DNA on the envelopes she sent the tapes in; completely ignored Light's order to stay away (as he was already suspected of being Kira) as he predicted L was having him followed.
It tells the story of a boy named Light who has the power to kill anyone with a notebook. All that he needs to know is their face and name. L, the greatest detective in the world, joins the police in order to find out who is behind the killings ...
Misa's design was heavily inspired by the gothic style of Lolita fashion, which fit in very well with Death Note 's themes. As her character developed through time, however, her appearance also changed and by the end of the series, Misa didn't keep the same style she once had.
Chapter 33 of the manga, "Removal," was censored in the magazine release due to Misa being blindfolded and tied up. Having evidence that she was the Second Kira, L kidnapped her and held her as his hostage in order to try to find out information about Kira.
Misa was introduced with the Shinigami Eyes, which changed her eye color to red whenever she wanted to see someone's name and how long they had until they would die . However, her Shinigami Eyes are not the only cause of her eyes changing color.
Obata considers Misa to be the hardest character to create in the manga. He said that he found it difficult to get in the mindset of a person who would do absolutely anything for the person they love. Obata felt that Misa would take control while he wrote for the character.
Misa was born on December 25, 1984. Though she was once supposed to live a much longer life, she decreased her remaining lifespan by half in order to have the power of the Shinigami Eyes. She actually made the deal twice, decreasing her lifespan to a quarter of what it once was. Misa passed away on February 14, 2011.
Though he is not certain, Ohba stated that he thinks he got Misa's name from the word "kuromisa," which means "Black Mass" in Japanese. Misa's last name is Amane, which means "Sound of the Heavens.".
I thought Misa would die earlier than that. Manga Misa died on February 14th, 2011. Her cause of death is unknown (may or may not be suicide). Anime Misa's fate remain unknown (according to HTR14: Official Guidebook to the Death Note Animation; her 'death date 命日' is specified as 'cannot be known 不明'.).
She gave up three quarters of her life but she inherited Rem's lifespan when Rem died saving Misa. So arguably she had a quite long lifespan. Since Rem had her own lifespan plus the ones she adquired from killing the guy Higuchi asked Misa to kill as proof of her being the second Kira, plus Watari's, plus L's.
