Volume 28-29 Sawako and Kazehaya met up on the evening of new years eve, but due to a strong blizzard, they were forced to stay overnight at Kazahaya's house.
Kazehaya process to kiss Sawako in public and gave her a letter for Sawako to read on the train filled with his emotions and hope. As the train's door closes, they confess their love once again and calling each other by their name (Sawako and Shouta)
Volume 30 Kazehaya was forced to move out and stay alone to be independent and was looking for a place, Sawako and Kurumi were accepted into the education University in Sapporo. Kurumi was invited for a gathering before each of them when their ways where she apologies to Yano and Chizuru for what she did (in season 1) where she was forgiven.
After they both confess their feelings to one another, they finally get together, but Shouta finally asks Sawako out, after being unsure of how their relationship was.

Since the Kimi ni Todoke manga is still running, and the anime ended in 2011, it's safe to assume that the anime didn't adapt everything. However, I know that a lot of it was adapted reasonably faithfully, and I'd rather avoid rereading things which were part of the anime.

A happy ending in almost all the episodes ( wait, maybe all of them). In the second season, it's more focused on love. Kazehaya and Sawako will probably take their relationship to the next level, but more misunderstandings before that. The story is outstanding.

This love story is, unfortunately, too cute to be real. It's impossible to imagine characters like Takeo Goda and Rinko Yamato even existing, let alone as a couple out there in the world. However, it doesn't feel like the show was ever trying to be anything but a lighthearted take on young love as seen through the eyes of an outsider.
