The Man Who Fell In Love With Kagome! is the thirty-seventh episode of the InuYasha anime.
Kagome and Kikyo are two of InuYasha's strongest female characters, and they love the same half-breed. The series ends with Inuyasha getting with Kagome, but to some Kikyo fans, that's not enough proof that the series' male main character loves her more.

Although Kikyo causes the most relationship strife between Inuyasha and Kagome, the wolf-demon Koga also creates a love triangle. In Episode 36 , “Kagome Kidnapped by Koga, the Wolf Demon!,” Koga kidnaps Kagome and eventually falls in love with her, planning to make her “his woman.” Koga’s declaration of love towards Kagome infuriates Inuyasha. Throughout the series, Inuyasha showcases his jealousy of Koga by starting irrational arguments with Kagome. However, Koga’s love for Kagome is unrequited. Koga ultimately becomes a valuable ally in Inuyasha’s fight against Naraku.
In Episode 47 , “Onigumo’s Heart Still Beats Within Naraku,” Inuyasha promises Kikyo that he will kill Naraku, and they both vow that their lives belong to each other while embracing. Kagome witnesses this intimate moment and feels hurt because she realizes that she cannot be the woman that satisfies Inuyasha’s heart.

They never kiss because they don't have to. Their bond and understanding of their feelings and place in each other's lives are known without the kissy-kissy.
In episode 8 , Moroha fell into the Dream Gazing Spell of the opponent. Her dream (or more likely memories) showed Kagome to be holding Moroha as a baby. (Kagome left the lipcoloring makeup of Inuyasha’s mother to Moroha.)

So because of that, it made inuyasha happy and would like to continue his promise to protect kikyo forever. That would mean, kagome will return to her present time since there’s nothing for her in the feudal era. So just as i said earlier, inuyasha is the type who’s indecisive and can’t move on.
If that’s how the story went, then for once, he was able to save kikyo, there will be no guilt and regret, kikyo will ascend to heaven and find peace, give her blessings to inuyasha and kagome and inuyasha can finally move on. However, we all know that’s not how it went.
Kagome reached out her hands to inuyasha to save him from the pain, accepting that kikyo will always have a place in his heart that she can never replace. But that place in his heart is more of guilt and regret rather than romance.
Despite a past that makes him distrusting and wary of humans, Inuyasha grows attached to Kagome as they follow their shared mission to collect the Shikon Jewel shards in the Feudal Era.
While Kagome sleeps, he looks through her photo albums lying in her room in an effort to understand her better. The natural instinct to nurture sick loved ones reveals how worried Inuyasha is about Kagome's well-being.
When Kagome is stuck inside the Shikon Jewel later in InuYasha: The Final Act, the jewel tries to trick her into granting the wrong wish that will keep her trapped inside it forever. She tells the Shikon Jewel that she doesn't need a wish and she'd rather wait for Inuyasha to come save her. Placing her full faith in him, Inuyasha desperately tries to reach her. He yells out to her, but she can't hear him as he battles his way through to find a path out.
When Kagome is sick in her own modern time, Inuyasha visits her and tries to take care of her himself. He makes a Feudal-Era medicine from fresh ingredients he fought various demons to collect, hoping it would cure her cold.
After falling asleep at her desk, she wakes up to a blanket wrapped around her and Inuyasha in her room. Kagome asks Inuyasha if she'll be stronger once the seal on her spiritual powers is broken -- she wants to become strong in order to stay with everyone in the Feudal Era.
As he spots a glimmer of light, Inuyasha uses his Tessaiga sword to break through and find Kagome. After fearing he may lose her forever, Inuyasha is overcome with relief and joy that he's able to reach her. He embraces her as they share their first kiss together.
When Kagome leans on Inuyasha and asks to stay with him, he grabs her hand and promises her he'll protect her with his life. Grabbing her hand tighter, he leans in closer and tries to kiss her. When Kagome's younger brother interrupts their kiss, Inuyasha is visibly annoyed.
