Tenchi Muyo is far from the first harem anime series—that honor goes to Urusei Yatsura or Ranma ½, depending on how many girls the viewer needs to define a harem. However, Tenchi certainly solidified most of the tropes fans would come to know for harem series.

Tenchi Forever ! Also known as Tenchi Muyo! in Love 2 , this 1999 release is the franchise 's third and final movie to date. It's part of the Tenchi Universe timeline but also the most stylistically distinct entry in the franchise in art and story.
Tenchi, after learning his grandfather's true identity as the Juraian prince Yosho, puts his life on the line to rescue her. During the climax of the battle when Tenchi is thought to be dead, both Ayeka and Ryoko reveal their true love for Tenchi. The both of them going after Kagato in a suicidal battle to the death.
After he loses greatly to Kenshi's ability (but he did win the race because Kenshi stopped to look for food in the forest), he arranged for Kenshi to marry Aura, to her delight. Later, when the King and Flora come on the Swan, they arrange that Kenshi marry both Aura and Maria, in an effort to unite the three kingdoms.

Character Synopsis "Kami Tenchi" (神 天地, God of Heaven and Earth) is the supreme being of the official Tenchi Muyo!
It was originally planned to be a continuation of Tenchi Universe, but it transformed into a retelling and re-introduction of the Tenchi Muyo! characters in a new continuity with an original story.
Between both manga series, they mostly cover the first two OVA series, and are technically non-canon, though the changes are mostly minor changes. In addition there are many things in this timeline which are not related to the main story. There's a spinoff manga series about Sasami, Tenchi Muyo!
Jurassic World: Dominion Dominates Fandom Wikis - The Loop Most of these end up marrying Seina in a large polygamous group. By the end of 5th season of Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki, it seems that Seina has married at least 10 women, and there was talk of adding 4 more in the near future.
Kami Tenchi is still bound to his manga panels and TV airment. God Fusion Goku could just go to the mangaka and tell him/her to make Kami Tenchi eaker that's it. Goku has real dimensionality. Kami Tenchi does not.
The episode is an anime original backstory for Kumagawa, it does not spoil anything else in the anime or manga. KAMI TENCHI IS THE STRONGEST CHARACTER TO HAVE EVER LIVED.
In this series, Tenchi is now 22 years of age and has become a school teacher at an all-girls high school (because of course he did), and he’s helping to fix one of Washu’s accidents.
Tenchi’s English voice actor was Matt K. Miller for most series, who lent exactly the right character to one of the nicest people in anime. The Japanese voice actor is Masami Kikuchi, who’s held multiple roles in the past but is specifically known for being Joe Kido in Digimon.
8 HIS GRANDFATHER SHOULD HAVE BEEN AN EMPEROR. What makes Tenchi originally so sought after by royalty and space pirates is his connection to Jurai. This occurs because his grandfather Katsuhito Masaki was actually the oldest child of the Juraian Empire.
The canon version of Tenchi Masaki is a being capable of wielding power from a higher plane of existence. It’s this power which allows Tenchi to be capable of defeating Z, a being that can also generate Light Hawk Wings.
Tenchi Muyo: 10 Things You Didn't Know About Tenchi Masaki. Tenchi Muyo!'s main character Tenchi Masaki isn't a total open book, which includes these 10 things you didn't know about his character. There’s no harem series that’s complete without having a milquetoast protagonist, and Tenchi Masaki is the grand-daddy of them all. ...
In Tenchi Universe, he’s also considered the best swordsman Jurai ever had, though in that timeline he actually appears to be aging in real time, unlike the Ryo-Ohki timeline where he only appears to be older. Only from Tenchi in Tokyo is Yosho completely normal.
Tenchi Muyo didn’t invent the harem, but it might have invented the “harem ending”, where the main character refuses to actually pick someone and winds up somehow being with everyone. Kajishima’s own storylines have shown a much older version of Tenchi who winds up having children with both Ayeka and Ryoko.
The Tenchi Muyo! universe has a complex setup thanks to all the different initial adaptations that seem to all exist within different universes. Tenchi Muyo! GXP was developed by the creator of the franchise though, and exists within his own special universe—the Ryo-Ohki timeline.
Despite having his name in the title, Tenchi Muyo !GXP is actually not about Tenchi at all. People tuning in for the latest adventures of the hapless teenager are going to be disappointed quickly. Instead, it follows Seina Yamada, a young man with absolutely terrible luck living in the same village as Tenchi.
After setting up the universe, introducing all the main cast members and the key plot points driving the series, we do eventually get to see Tenchi again.
Missing Ryo-Ohki, the entire point of Tenchi Muyo? Well, not to worry; Ryo-Ohki actually pops up in the series multiple times, being sent to save Seina after some missions go a bit off-kilter!
For a series that’s ostensibly supposed to be about the war between “cops and robbers," there’s a surprising amount of side switching and defecting. One of the key antagonists starts out as a cop, only to eventually become a pirate, rising in the ranks to become one of their most important assets.
GXP can easily fool people who sign on believing it’s going to be some deep space opera. At its core, Tenchi Muyo! GXP is more about comedy and character relationships than anything else. The story exists, but it’s just as often about the jokes and the absurdist humor while developing the characters.
The comedic focus wasn’t quite what the creator of the series wanted from this. Certainly, Tenchi Muyo! has had its humorous moments, but Tenchi Muyo1 GXP goes right into slapstick occasionally.
Tenchi Muyō!, lit. "Do Not Turn Over" or "No Need for Tenchi!") is a Japanese anime, light novel and manga franchise. The original series began with a six-episode OVA called Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki (天地無用! 魎皇鬼, Tenchi Muyō! Ryōōki) created by Masaki Kajishima and directed by Hiroki Hayashi, and released in Japan on September 25, 1992.

Spin-offs. The first Tenchi spinoff is the Magical Girl Pretty Sammy series, a magical girl series where Sasami is the lead character. The first use of Pretty Sammy was in the Tenchi Muyo! Sound File, a Japanese-only music video release. The same animation was used in the ending of the Tenchi Muyo!
magazine from December 16, 1994 to June 9, 2000. The series was collected into 12 tankōbon volumes.

Tenchi in Tokyo (新・天地無用!, Shin Tenchi Muyō!) was created in 1997, and is another alternate version of the original story. The latest version of the series called Ai Tenchi Muyo!, was broadcast on Tokyo MX in 2014. Spin-off series of Tenchi Muyo! were also created.
On AnimeJapan 2019, it was announced on AIC Rights' booth that a stage play based on the first season of Ryo-Ohki was in development, scheduled to premiere in 2019. On May 17, the cast and staff was announced, with Kazuhiro Igarashi writing the script and Kazuma Sato starring as Tenchi Masaki.
Ryo-Ohki had a bevy of cute girls, some slick bubble era animation, and a still incredible early days digital-synthetic soundtrack by Seikou Nagaoka that, to simply put it, rocked. Fans loved Ryo-Ohki so much that AIC soon followed it up with Tenchi Muyo!
Tenchi Muyo Forever, or Tenchi Muyo in Love 2 to Japanese folk, throws most of the series’ conventions away and actually plays itself out as a melancholic drama which put Ryoko and Ayeka’s feelings for Tenchi under the microscope.
