Unlike the original “Romeo and Juliet” by Shakespeare, the “Boarding School Juliet” isn't sad at all. On the contrary, it is a romantic comedy that will most likely end well for all the characters.

The story is, indeed, based on the life of two real lovers who lived and died for each other in Verona, Italy in 1303. Shakespeare is known to have discovered this tragic love story in Arthur Brooke's 1562 poem entitled “The Tragical History of Romeo and Juliet”.

Really loved watching it! I honestly thought this anime was adorable. The main characters may be awkward but I like the fact this anime is serious but not serious at the same time. I was even glad that this wasn't a typical Romeo and Juliet story where they always die in the end.

Activating her wings, Juliet tells Romeo that she loves him and, after putting his hand on her cheek, she feels that they’ll be together for eternity. She then asks Escalus to grant her prayer, and her wings multiply and grow huge in size.
William meanwhile thinks about how strife, hatred, sadness, and pain can all be ended by love. The joy of love is what Romeo and Juliet taught him. Unlike today’s Claymore finale, Romeo and Juliet actually had what I thought was a pretty good ending.
At this moment, however, Ophelia is telling Romeo that she gave Juliet the kiss of death as a sign of the contract with the tree Escalus. She claims that Juliet won’t wake up any longer, ...
Ophelia corrects him because it’s not just Juliet – Escalus and Neo Verona have been saved by the blood of many Capulets. She also questions if Romeo would be fine with the land being destroyed, and he replies by saying that if that’s the path, he would accept it because of his oath to walk together with her.
She came to save the world, and she knows that Escalus still lives because she can feel its life inside of her.
Though Juliet is still grieving over Romeo, Tybalt urges her to get on his winged horse because the tree is about to crumble. Juliet, however, asks Romeo to say her name and touches his lips as if that would help. In trying to comfort her, Tybalt tells her that Romeo shouldered everything himself because he loved her.
Despite this, Romeo uses all his strength to stand his ground because he wants to save Juliet, and his crying out of her name finally awakens her.
After Romeo hears that Juliet has died (she has faked her death by taking a sleeping potion) he gets poison from the apothecary and goes to Juliet's tomb. He encounters Paris at the tomb, and kills him in a fight . In the tomb, he takes Juliet's body in his arms and tells her goodbye.
After an encounter with Paris outside the tomb in which he killed the unfortunate prince, Romeo entered the sepulcher, saw what he believed was his dead love, and took the poison. He died soon thereafter.
Because Romeo and Juliet were caught in the feud between their families, it was apparent that their relationship would face some difficult obstacles that they had to overcome. They naively believed that their secret marriage would be the salve to heal all wounds, as the friar stated:
He died soon thereafter. Juliet recovered from the effects of the poison when Friar Laurence, on a mission to intervene, had just entered the tomb. The friar urged her to leave the tomb but she refused and decided that life without Romeo had no purpose. She took Romeo's dagger and fatally stabbed herself.
Romeo is oblivious to the scheme, since Friar Lawrence's letter explaining everything isn't delivered to him—he only hears the news of Juliet's death, so he arrives at Juliet's tomb to grieve her. He swallows poison in his grief, longing to join Juliet in death, and Juliet, ...
The decision proved to be much too impulsive because firstly, Romeo was banished at the risk of death from Verona for killing Tybalt and, secondly, Juliet 's father, Lord Capulet, practically forced his daughter to marry Paris.
She would then be interred in the family burial vault, where Romeo would later come to rescue her. An urgent message would be sent to Romeo in Mantua informing him about the details of the plan. It is unfortunate that Romeo never received the message. Fate intervened and the messenger was unable to complete his task.

Theron Martin, of Anime News Network reviewed the first DVD set, and enjoyed the musical score, but felt the story made use of too many 'saved-at-the-last-moment' scenes. He noted a drop-off in animation quality in the second half of the series, and was disappointed at the change in the tone of the ending. He later chose it as one of the best anime series of 2009, citing Gonzo's preservation of the overall tone, and the addition of "great action" scenes. Bamboo Dong describ…
