Misa doesn't die in the anime itself. But then, of course, it's actually a little more complicated than that. Misa's last scene is at the end of the final episode of Death Note. We see her standing upon the edge of a building on her own, on the other side of some safety railing.
According to 13: How to Read, Misa loses her memories related to using the Death Note and retains her love for Light. Since it is in the nature of a Death Note user to "suffer misfortune", Misa falls into despair after someone "like Matsuda" "probably let it slip" that Light died.
Misa then goes outside, having written her own name and the circumstances of her death on a scrap of Death Note paper. As written, she dies on December 18th at 2:40 pm "in the arms of Light Yagami."

In part one, Misa falls in love with Light and users her Death Note to assist him as he attempts to avoid a task force formed to hunt him down. This winds up getting Misa incarcerated. She ultimately loses her memories, Shinigami, and half her lifespan.
One of the most important characters in the progression of the show is Misa Amane.
Misa is portrayed in the Death Note film series by Erika Toda. Misa's role is very similar to her canon self in that she uses her Death Note to support Kira and she falls in love with Light. Her career is also further developed with her being an actress, TV personality, and singer.
Misa then goes outside, having written her own name and the circumstances of her death on a scrap of Death Note paper. As written, she dies on December 18th at 2:40 pm "in the arms of Light Yagami.". It is also revealed in the fourth film that Light had a child who would be nine years old.
As an alternate solution, Rem eventually convinces Misa, who had originally refused, not wanting to forget her love for Light, to give up ownership of the Death Note. Rem assures Misa that her feelings for Light Yagami will not go away and that she will simply forget that Light is Kira.
Misa is a short, slender, attractive young woman with long, straight, golden-blonde hair, most commonly styled with a portion of her hair in pigtails tied with red bands, but occasionally worn loose as well. In the anime, it seems that she was a brunette at one point. In the manga, her eyes are predominantly light brown; however, they have also been shown as green. In the anime, they alternate between light brown and blue. Her eyes turn bright red while using the power of the Shinigami Eyes, which allow her to see a person's name and lifespan above their head. In the games, her eyes are usually light brown but have also been seen as pink. Misa also appears to have black hair in the movie, which she was wearing in pigtails throughout the film.
After gaining a Death Note, she seeks out Kira in order to thank him for killing the man who murdered her family and to offer him her help. Having made the trade for the Shinigami Eyes, Misa learns that the identity of Kira is Light Yagami. After a meeting with Light, she decides to dedicate her life to helping Light however she can, ...
A supervisor states that the section will be cut due to controversies.
Misa is very outgoing and is shown to be quite popular due to her career. She attracts a large crowd while visiting Light near his school. She is hyperactive, impulsive, and otherwise childlike, evidenced by her tendency to speak in the third person. Despite being considered idiotic by many, Misa is shown to have moments of intelligence, such as when she successfully tricks Kyosuke Higuchi into revealing himself to be the Yotsuba Kira. However, even though she is more powerful than Light as Kira, she is very careless in her acts as the Second Kira, which leads to her being arrested and put in confinement on suspicion that she is is the second Kira. As she likely didn't know the Death Note could manipulate victims, and thus mailed the tapes herself; failed to ensure there was no DNA on the envelopes she sent the tapes in; completely ignored Light's order to stay away (as he was already suspected of being Kira) as he predicted L was having him followed.
When she regains her memories by Rem telling her Rem states that if Light tries to harm Misa in anyway she will kill him. Misa responds "I don't exactly want to be loved by a Shinigami, and if Light died I couldn't live on without him. There's no way Light would kill Misa-Misa. And why would you go so far for me.".
1. When you kill a shinigami you don't get the rest of their lives because in reality Shinigami can't really die. They're pretty much immortal until they sacrifice their lives for a human. When Rem killed "L" and "Watari" Rem just saved Misa from dying from them. Rem didn't give it's remaining life to Misa.
It tells the story of a boy named Light who has the power to kill anyone with a notebook. All that he needs to know is their face and name. L, the greatest detective in the world, joins the police in order to find out who is behind the killings ...
Misa's design was heavily inspired by the gothic style of Lolita fashion, which fit in very well with Death Note 's themes. As her character developed through time, however, her appearance also changed and by the end of the series, Misa didn't keep the same style she once had.
Chapter 33 of the manga, "Removal," was censored in the magazine release due to Misa being blindfolded and tied up. Having evidence that she was the Second Kira, L kidnapped her and held her as his hostage in order to try to find out information about Kira.
Misa was introduced with the Shinigami Eyes, which changed her eye color to red whenever she wanted to see someone's name and how long they had until they would die . However, her Shinigami Eyes are not the only cause of her eyes changing color.
Obata considers Misa to be the hardest character to create in the manga. He said that he found it difficult to get in the mindset of a person who would do absolutely anything for the person they love. Obata felt that Misa would take control while he wrote for the character.
Misa was born on December 25, 1984. Though she was once supposed to live a much longer life, she decreased her remaining lifespan by half in order to have the power of the Shinigami Eyes. She actually made the deal twice, decreasing her lifespan to a quarter of what it once was. Misa passed away on February 14, 2011.
Though he is not certain, Ohba stated that he thinks he got Misa's name from the word "kuromisa," which means "Black Mass" in Japanese. Misa's last name is Amane, which means "Sound of the Heavens.".
