Kuroo begins to understand Yamamoto's situation of not being able to speak to girls. Haikyuu!! takes a break from the Karasuno-Inarizaki match in Episode 17 to cast a spotlight on Karasuno's Tokyo-based rival, Nekoma High School. The episode focuses heavily on the backstory of Kenma Kozume, a first-year student and starting setter for Nekoma.
Kenma struggles physically during practice but uses his inventive mind to distract himself during long laps by fantasizing about video game scenarios. It's well-known that Kenma prefers to put in minimal effort physically, but on the court, he makes up for it with his quick, strategic wit and knowledge of the game.
While Kenma is strong mentally, the coach knows that he's not as strong physically and looks to throw Nekoma off their rhythm.
If successful, Kenma will have to use a lot more energy to move around. Yet again, some other force is challenging Kenma to expand his range of effort in a way where his brainpower may not be able to compensate. In order to get past this obstacle, Kenma has to level up -- or it might be game over for Nekoma.
Haikyuu!! has officially come to an end with Chapter 402 of the series, and one of the coolest things it does is complete a final arc that sent the series several years forward into the future. Because of this, we actually get a complete look at the various characters throughout the series and what their future lives are like after they graduate from high school. In the final arc of the manga, we find out what each fan favorite's lives are like whether or not they continued playing volleyball out of school.
Following graduation, Hitoka Yachi goes to college and eventually moves on to work for an ad agency. What's hilarious about her watching the Olympics in the final chapter of the series is that she's clearly watching it on an iPad at her work desk.
The timeskip revealed that following graduation Tobio Kageyama went to play for Japan's national team. Following a couple years of this, he officially entered the pro leagues as part of the Schweiden Adlers. The final game of the series depicts his match against Hinata's pro team, the Black Jackals, but that's not where it ends for Kageyama in the slightest. He continues playing volleyball as part of Japan's Men's Volleyball team for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics alongside Shoyo Hinata and many other fan favorites. One year later, he's playing in the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship finals as part of Italy Serie A team, Ali Roma against Hinata's team.
It's revealed following the timeskip that after graduation Sawamura now works as part of the Miyagi Prefecture Police Force in the Community Safety Division. Like many of the other characters, he does look the same just a bit taller and has a more filled out musculature.
Asahi Azumane let his hair flow a little bit more following graduation, and has since become an apparel designer in Tokyo. But unlike his former Karasuno buddies, in the final chapter of the series he's not watching the Olympics. When the game happens, he instead is in the middle of a trip around the world alongside Nishinoya. When he updates Sawamura and the others about their wherabouts, he and Nishinoya send them a picture of the two of them in front of pyramids in Egypt.
It's revealed in the timeskip that Hisashi Kinoshita is now working for a train company after graduation, and Kazuhito Narita is working for a realty firm. In the final chapter of the series, the two of them are some of the many characters seen watching the Tokyo Olympics from their homes. prev next.
But we soon find out that Nishinoya has actually used his time following school to travel across the world. He was seen fishing for Marlins in Italy during the final game of the series, and in the last chapter, he and Azumane are traveling around the world together from the North Pole to the pyramids in Egypt.
Tsukishima is a character who is portrayed to be a tsundere. For those who don’t know, tsunderes are characters with a tough exterior and soft interior. However, very often this trope is used to excuse poor behavior, which was the case with him.
4 Yamaguchi. The problem with characters like Yamaguchi is how their presence (or lack of it) makes no difference to series whatsoever. They always are under the shadow of another character (in this case Tsukishima) who often overshadows them because of their strong personalities.
The problem with Osamu is the way he treats Atsumu. Teasing is one thing, but there’s a fine line between teasing and bullying and that line is always blurred for him.
Oikawa is the perfect example of how a character can get away with doing the most horrible things, only because they are good looking. Everybody knows he has a terrible personality and yet, excuses are made by making statements like “He’s really a nice person.”
Being weak-willed and being afraid to take initiative are some of the least desirable qualities in characters . Sadly, Asahi was the epitome of such characteristics. Not only that, but he also finds it hard to ignore what people say about him, is easily unmotivated, and let down his team when they lost against Date Tech High.
Even with a passionate fan base and wide-reaching seasons, Haikyuu!! has still managed to amass a collection of fan-hated characters. Haikyuu is a sports anime that has reached unparalleled levels of popularity.
8 Washijo Tanji. Tanji is the type of guy who is stubborn and easy to anger. He also has a grudge against Hinata (or rather his height) which clouded his judgment. This made him deprive Hinata consistently of participating in any and every volleyball game.
