Learn more... In March 2016, Clip Studio Paint (Same as Manga Studio 5) version 1.5.4 released animation functions within the drawing program. This tutorial’s focus is on utilizing those functions to create an animation, not on how to make your own animations.
Therefore, you can't create animations in Manga Studio. However, you can download Clip Studio Paint for free and validate it with your old Manga Studio serial code, which will give you access to the animation features.
Coming from a legacy of animation software, we know that frame-by-frame animation needs a smooth drawing experience that lets you draw exactly how you want. Clip Studio Paint is used in 2D animation studios worldwide as an essential part of the animation process. You can create every stroke exactly as you imagine with our powerful brush engine.
From still images to camerawork and audio tracks, you can carry out every stage in a single application. Take your own animation studio wherever you go, then export your finished animation as a video, animated gif, or image sequence.
We use Clip Studio Paint in the process of creating Chibi Maruko-chan episodes. Although we're still gradually introducing digital techniques, we're now using digital cuts in our broadcasted animations.
With Clip Studio Paint, you can animate just as you would with a pen and paper, using the same tools you use for drawing and painting.

In general, the anime characters cards are presented as follows: a drawing of the whole body of face, back, profile, to which we add some facial expressions characteristic of our character. The important thing is that thanks to it we can identify the appearance and character of the latter.
Our draft is finished, we must now correct the anatomy of our character: this is where the 3D model comes into play! To select it, we have to go to Window> Hardware> Hardware Then open a window with different characters.
You will find that in the tab "pose" we have at our disposal a slew of pre-recorded poses and body sizes that you can use as you see fit for your model.
Here is how our model presents itself. I chose this one because his haircut looks a little like that of my character, but let's go ^^ I will present here only the tools that will be useful for the realization of our pose.
That's it, you now know how to move your model in space. But that's not all, it must now give him a pose! This is the most important part here, so I show you all that.
Now that we have our final pose, we get rid of the draft made at the very beginning of the tutorial. You can hide it, or simply cut it if you are 100% sure that you will not use it anymore.
Now proceed to the realization of the sketch of our character from the pose given by the 3D model made by us here. This is an important step as it comes just before the definitive line art stage: so some attention will have to be given to it;)
To create a canvas, click [New from device storage]. Pick the photo you plan on using for your drawing.
Before editing, resize the photo first Click [Menu] Click Click [Change image resolution]. Do not pick change canvas size as it might blur the photo. Choosing image resolution will retain it's quality while lowering the size of your file.
choose [New correction layer] > [Tone curve] Tone Curve are used to adjust the tones of the image to make it brighter or darker. Using RGB curve, tones can be adjust by highlights, midtones and shadows. Since I’m aiming for a sunset vibe, I’m making it brighter.
For step 3, let's go back to [New correction layer] then pick [Color balance].
Click [new layer] make it [Add glow]. Choose color light pink or red. For a little highlights and anime like color. You can choose any color, don't be afraid to experiment.
Click new layer , change blend mode to [multiply]. Move the layer BELOW LINE ART LAYER. Click [pen], choose [g-pen].
Create new layer below 'lineart layer', make it [SCREEN BLEND]. Use [airbrush] > [soft] then use light orange color.
Hello, I hope you guys are doing well. I think a lot of people, including me, struggle with drawing and coloring background. I know, it’s time consuming, we have to apply lots of perspective rules and it also requires lots of skills and imagination (if we don’t use reference).
First, we take a photo that we want to turn into anime background. If possible, choose photo that doesn’t or have less people in it because it’ll be harder to edit human figure to look like an anime character. That’s why I reccomend taking photos without human figures at all.
Now I need to redraw the details that I deleted such as electricity cables, road line and trees. I also draw some clouds to make the picture less empty. Remember to add shadow and highlight when you draw trees and adjust the color pallet to make it fit with the environment.
Let’s add some more final effects to bring anime-feel to your photo! First off, create a new layer on top, change Blending mode to “Screen”.
I will show you the whole process to create a similar animation, you will see how entertaining and easy it is. So, I invite you to see the super tutorial called:
The video is in Spanish but remember that you can activate the subtitles in your language, you will surely find it :)
We go to File - New and we choose the last option, Animation. And in Preset we choose 1920 x 1080, we change the name of the story and the most important, we change the Speed to 8 and the Duration to 24 Frames. Once ready, press accept.
In File - Save As, you can save your project, choose your folder and don't forget to always save in .CLIPSTUDIOFORMAT
When creating the project we will have some things by default, an animation folder and the paper layer that is the white background color. To start from 0 we are going to delete the Animation folder in the layers panel, leaving only the paper layer.
We select the Layout layer and activate: Change Layer Color and lower the opacity to 50%.
Now is the time to start animating, for this we will start with the simplest, blinking the character. To do this we have to go to the timeline and create a: New animation folder.
Go to File > New and click on the red icon that has a play button in the use of work section.
I use Manga Studio 5 and don't have the option to make an animation file. Where do I find it?
