That's the cannon main story part. If you're asking the "play or watch" question-for me it's always "play first". Especially considering pretty bad anime adaptation of Steins;Gate 0. Original S;G was adapted pretty good but it lacks a lot of cool stuff from the game and has some changes in the story.
I watched the anime first but the vn does add depth and explanation on a few things. Still very good fun though Watched the anime first, still loved the VN. It expands on so much of the content in the anime that it's worth playing if you have any interest in more detailed Steins;gate information.
While both versions are great stories, Steins;Gate works best if you watch the anime first and then play through the visual novel.
It's pretty straightforward, actually. That's the cannon main story part. If you're asking the "play or watch" question - for me it's always "play first". Especially considering pretty bad anime adaptation of Steins;Gate 0.
Why is it important to watch it before fans see the original cut of the 23rd episode? The reason is that it helps set up Steins;Gate 0, which is a semi-sequel series. Watching it straight after the original would only leave a viewer confused.
Steins;Gate 0 was produced by White Fox, and partially adapts the 2015 video game of the same name. The game is a sequel to Steins;Gate, which was also adapted into an anime by White Fox in 2011. While the game's story is composed of multiple routes, the anime reconstructs the story into one single route.
Steins;Gate 0, inspite of being marketed as the "true sequel" to Steins;Gate, does not take place after the ending of Steins;Gate. Even though it is canonical, it takes place just before the ending of Steins;Gate. The story between the two is exactly the same upto (and including) Episode 22.
RELATED: Best Psychological Anime, RankedWhile the Steins;Gate anime generally takes cues from its visual novel source, some fans would admit that there's something to the adaptation that the visual novel just didn't have. In fact, certain aspects of the anime make it superior to the visual novel, to some extent.
STEINS GATE IS NOT BORING. You have to bear through Okarin's jokes for a few episodes but it is a very well crafted series. And the fact that it is based off of an actual 2000s fake (maybe) internet user, makes it all the more interesting. The very fact that it could happen is what makes it a even more fun to watch.
Aside from being considered non-canon, both the movie and OVA are set on the Steins;Gate worldline, the worldline created when Okabe saved Kurisu at the end of the original series.
While Steins;Gate isn't “classified” or “marketed” as sad anime, it still has one of the most heartbreaking arcs in all anime. Steins;Gate tells the story of Okabe Rintarou, a college student and self-proclaimed mad scientist who accidentally discovers a way to change past events, by sending so-called D-mails.
They are not necessary, the movie is non-canon and the anime of Steins;Gate 0 is a mediocre adaptation... actually, it's not even an adaptation to the VN, it's more like an expansion to the VN so you need to play the VN to get the complete story.
This is a quick one, people, all of you looking for a romance anime, PLEASE watch RE:LIFE!! I went into it expecting a mediocre romance to pass the time, but saying that it surprised me is an understatement. The character development, mature writing with no cringy moments, overall tone of the show, and the conclusion...
I showed him Steins gate and he loved it now he is watching Trigun but I also need something else to show him so any recommendations? Please
High school romance with comedy and drama, preferably more comedy than drama, but whichever works haha.
I used to be into anime when i was younger but now i can't find an anime where there's no character's annoying overreactions, the terrible childlish comedy and the overdramatic scenes.
Recently I've been looking for some inspiration for a personal project! I'd like something to watch so I can get a good grasp at story telling with dark plots.
