I don't think extreme anime fans are really that much weirder than the extreme side of any group/hobby. If you look at, for example, political groups or rallies, you see some really weird people with extreme opinions (at both ends of the political spectrum).
When an anime fan is watching some seinen anime with a dramatic or sad scene, act like they enjoy it on the comedy way, thinks it’s funny. (Tell them they’re being sadistic. 3. Call Elfen Lied "Elfen Lide" 4. Tell an anime fan that all those things are drawn.
With the foundation laid and demand on the rise, it’s becoming increasingly acceptable for shows to let their young women explore life safely, and find fulfillment on their own terms. Being an innovator in the Shounen genre and being the anime to start the trend, I guess people get overprotective like an insecure mother. But it is what it is. Neon Genesis Evangelion is the last anime I’ll mention. Funny enough – it’s also the ONLY anime on this list that isn’t “Shounen” or anything like DBZ, MHA or Naruto.
And a lot the modern styles, features and quirks you see in anime today were inspired by Jojo. A lot of the time you won’t even know Jojo is the inspiration behind an anime (if you’re under 20 years old). But it’s true. It’s an underground legend that’s overshadowed by mainstream anime.
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure is an anime I never knew existed until a few years ago. But now that I know better, I’ve realized how much of a pioneer it is in the anime industry. I mean – a lot of references in tons and tons of anime are taken from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure.
But even I can admit Naruto has a more “cult” following by far. Ignoring that for a second, It’s shocking how many sensitive teddy bears are running around in the Naruto community.
Look at the harem genre (a genre of anime that features a guy living with a group of girls) or even a lot of protagonists in shounen anime (literally translates to boy but this is what most people generally associate with anime e.g. dragonball z, naruto, one piece etc.)
When he sees the Omega Justice Blast, he feels the meaning of the show, he projects onto the possibilities the show suggests.
