The 750 Ti is a great card for 720p resolution as you're currently using. Running 1080p, to keep similar settings on games you play on your current screen you'd need a GTX 960. It'll run it... but you're gonna have to adjust some settings and will probably get 30-60FPS in most games.
The GTX 750 Ti is slightly better than the GT 1030 and RX 550, and the i5–3470 quad-core is very acceptable. If you turn off anti-aliasing and play AAA games on low, you should manage to play most of them at 1080p. Overwatch and Fortnite should do pretty well.

You might get another 1-1/2 yrs on a750/750ti, but after that, it'll pretty much be "gaming obsolete". 3 yrs is about right for the lifespan of any gpu, as shown by the 550ti, or even more recently, the gtx 690 2Gb vrs gtx970 4Gb and the 690 was the flagship powerhouse.
Hey, 1) Yes, it's supported for that refresh rate for desktop applications. 2) It's supported for gaming as well but actually gaming at 144Hz would not be a good experience so you'd have to tweak the games to run at a lower frame rate (VSYNC OFF, or run Half Adaptive VSYNC and optimize for 72FPS).
Unfortunately bud the 750 ti is going to struggle extremely hard with Cyberpunk 2077, I think. It can "kind of" handle Witcher 3. But it's not a super great experience. You're talking 30 - 35 fps on medium settings at 1080p.
