Are Nerf guns allowed at Comic-Con? Nerf guns are allowed, but ammunition of any kind (foam or otherwise) is prohibited. Nerf guns must pass weapons check and will have triggers zip-tied to prevent guns from firing.
Nerf guns, along with any other toys that resemble weapons, are not allowed to be displayed or taken into school buildings. They are also only allowed on planes when they are in a checked bag (they aren’t allowed in carryons).
As most of the Nerf toys look like guns, that’s why it is better to avoid carrying these on the plane. If you want to carry a sword, bow, grenade, rocket launcher and other accessories which seem similar to the realistic firearm, you are stopped in the airport regarding the safety security of the passengers and flight.
An unmodified Nerf gun cannot cause any harm. These are toy guns designed for kids, I am sure the designers at Hasbro were very careful when crafting the early iterations of the Nerf gun. As for modified weapons, you might want to watch out for those.
If that is not allowed, you could possibly just mail all the guns to wherever your going. While “Toy guns” are usually not on any restricted list, items like “imitation firearms, pellet guns, etc” do feature on the list. As you can imagine, this leaves a lot of room for interpretation.
Toys such as Nerf guns and water pistols are considered projectile weapons, but if they are holstered and peace-bonded or peace-marked according to rules #4 or #5, and they are incapable of being loaded or fired, they are allowed.
Prop firearms such as Nerf guns and water guns are permitted, however they must be inoperable and unable to fire any projectile. All fake, prop, or homemade weapons are permitted if they are in no way dangerous to fellow attendees.
Toy or fantasy guns that are "obviously fake" are allowed. Swords are allowed if they can be tied shut in their sheath, or if they are made of wood or plastic. Swords must never be waved around or wielded, but they can be used for still posing for photographs.
But unlike most of those, at the annual pop-culture convention Dragon Con, you're allowed to bring in guns — fake ones, that is. If your costume for Dragon Con includes a prop weapon, you might get a tap on the shoulder from someone like Amanda Tucker.
Nerf guns are allowed, but ammunition of any kind (foam or otherwise) is prohibited. Airsoft guns must be rendered completely inoperable beforehand, that is the gun shall not have any batteries installed, nor gas/propellant in the chamber and the chamber must be filled with wax or similar material.
The following items are forbidden at LBCC: All firearms (including air soft guns, BB guns, cap guns, paintball guns and pellet guns) Replica firearms (including reproduction, fake or toy guns that can be confused for real firearms)
Metal barbed wire, swords, knives, throwing stars and claws are not permitted at Comic-Con. Baseball bats — wooden or metal — are prohibited, too. Lightsabers, staffs and canes are OK. Realistic prop guns and costume swords must be tethered to a costume.
No Real Weapons Are Allowed at an Event. Items that may otherwise be legal for you to own or carry are not welcome at any Event if they violate this Prop / Replica Weapons Policy.

A simple T-Shirt, Jeans and sneakers combo is perfect for Comic-Con. What is this? The halls can get super crowded so a T-Shirt is best advised when you're inside as all of those crowds certainly work up a sweat. Make sure your shoes are also really comfy as there is A LOT of walking around at Comic Con.
Just because they are dressed up in a costume doesn't give you the right to take their photos without permission. Be polite, respectful and patient! Remember, you're not the only person who'll stop them to ask for photos and, since they are fans too, they may be trying to get somewhere.
Modifications like the ones we found shown in various YouTube videos are not allowed at a Nerf war we attended.
Very, very small. As a nerf modder myself, I've sold many modded blasters over the past 5 years on eBay, Etsy, and Craigslist. Not a huge amount of sales, but I've managed to ship blasters to 4 different continents.
San Diego Comic-Con is known for being a showplace for outrageous costumes, but the world’s largest pop culture event requires all cosplayers to get their mock weaponry inspected prior to entering the convention floor.
Even Wonder Woman needs to get her magic lasso tagged at the prop weapons check station at Comic-Con. On the flip side, a Deadpool cosplayer can walk around Comic-Con with two prop guns, two prop ninja swords and a prop knife — after they pass inspection.
Metal barbed wire, swords, knives, throwing stars and claws are not permitted at Comic-Con. Baseball bats — wooden or metal — are prohibited, too. Lightsabers, staffs and canes are OK. Realistic prop guns and costume swords must be tethered to a costume.
All props will need to be submitted to the Comic Con Honolulu Public Safety for inspection prior to being allowed within the convention area. A prop inspection desk will be stationed near the primary entrance to the main convention level.
All props must support the overall look the you are currently wearing. Wearing a prop for its own sake is not allowed. For example: you may not wear regular street clothes and carry a sword or a staff.
Brandishing is defined as drawing, exhibiting, waving or using any item or prop in an unsafe manner. Any such display of an item prop in an aggressive or threatening manner, real or implied regardless of intent, or any other activity thought to be unsafe is strictly forbidden.
Bows & slingshots – real bows and slingshots may be used, but without bowstrings and propelling tubing
Both schools and airports have rules about taking toy weapons (Nerf or otherwise) on the premises but does that make it illegal?
Although Nerf guns aren’t really unsafe in regards to being able to seriously hurt someone, you still aren’t allowed to have them in schools or on airplanes (unless they are in your checked baggage).
If you are planning to take a toy on a plane, I have to disappoint you for your planning. You can carry your toy blaster in the luggage which is checked through the x-ray machine. If something is detected, the authority will check your bags and if they find your piece safe, then they will get it back to you.
Australia is a country that has some restrictions on toy weapons. It may seem crazy. But they are serious about this issue. That’s why some of the gaming items are illegal there. It is prohibited in some of the states in this country. Though Nerf gun is not illegal in Australia, but they banned most popular “Nerf rival Series”.
Prevention measure is always better. If you want to avoid a problem or chaos then it is wise to take proper steps about carrying your Nerf toys in proper places. Some accessories are banned and some are not allowed in some places for their own formed reasons. So, take your toy blasters in a mannerly way and enjoy your game while reaching there.
