Another new Star Wars movie is reportedly in the works from director J. D. Dillard (Sleight) and writer Matt Owens (Luke Cage), according to The Hollywood Reporter. It’s unclear whether this new Star Wars film will be a theatrical release or if it will debut on the Disney+ streaming service.

Release date: Unknown. A week after The Mandalorian season 3 entered development, news emerged that a "female-centric" new Star Wars series is being worked on, with Leslye Headland – the co-creator and executive producer of the Netflix series Russian Doll – on board as showrunner.
The same goes for Hayden Christensen, who will return as Darth Vader for the series (see the full cast here ). The rivals will come to blows, it has been confirmed. "The fans have been waiting long enough," McGregor said during Disney's colossal investors' call.

Little is known about the project other than that it's being developed by Dear White People's Justin Simien. Presumably, the series will see Donald Glover reprise his role as Lando.
