Pokémon Generations is a collection of short vignettes from the stories of the Pokémon games. Each episode is a few minutes long, they give no background to what's happening, and they tend to not resolve whatever little stories they're presenting.

Like the title suggests, Pokémon Generations will revisit each generation of the video game series. Thus the audience will have a deeper insight into each region, from Kanto to Kalos. During the travels between the regions, you’ll get to know each Pokémon and character better.
While we are used to watching the 20-something minute long episodes, Pokémon Generations will be much shorter. The series will focus much like in the video games on short stories and will not require prior viewing of any other episode to understand. The first two episodes will premiere on September 16 and every week through to December 23, 2016.
With the popularity and success of shows going online, it’s no surprise that Pokémon Generation will do the same. The Pokémon Company will launch the short series on their YouTube channel thereby making it available worldwide.
Given that Pokémon Generations is such a short series, it will focus on the battles that gamers had in the video games.
Though the ’90s series concentrated on the goofy situations that the gang gets itself into, the new anime series will go another route. Because it is a short series, the focus will be on the battles between Pokémon trainers and the enormous amount of power that their Pokémon exhibits.
Could be great if red replace Ash, the only bad thing the episode are too short but quality characters, sounds are mostly perfect and very nostalgic compare to the failured sun and moon anime with an humillated ash
I think Red is a better main character than Ash anyway. I do not understand that you still produce seasons with Ash even though Pokémon arrives with Red much better. It's a pity that this anime here is very short like Pokemon The Origin.
The first season of Pokemon has been known as Indigo League for some time, based on the league where Kanto adventurists go to become champion. This is where it all started for the youngster from Pallet Town. The Pokemon anime started here and it became an instant classic. It also gave fans the iconic theme song that stood the test of time.
Although the battles may not have been intense as XY, it capitalized on the new energy XY delivered. The overall wonderful storytelling and essence was there through and through. Ash and the anime were at its best with Sun & Moon.
The Water Pokémon specialist Misty was the first (human) friend Ash made on his journey and traveled with him consistently through Kanto, the Orange Islands, and final Johto. Though they didn't get off on the right foot (Ash stole her bike then Pikachu fried it), they became the best of friends, despite their frequent bickering.
When Ash first arrived in Hoenn, "Let's Get The Show On The Road," he instantly met May, a fledgling Pokémon trainer from Petalburg City. The two hit it off (in spite of Pikachu frying May's bike as he'd once done to Misty's) and traveled together until "Advanced Generation" reached its end.
May wasn't the only new addition to the cast - there was also her little brother, Max, introduced in the season's third episode, "There's No Place Like Hoenn." Something of a know-it-all, Max was too young to be a trainer himself, but that didn't inhibit him from criticizing his sister or Ash on their battle strategies.
The Pokémon anime began with Ash Ketchum setting out on his journey as a trainer in "Pokémon - I Choose You!" Suffice to say, he had a lot to learn, and spent the first season as a rookie mostly getting by on a mix of luck and help from his friends.
The dynamics of the original series were set-in-stone; Ash was the lead and got the lion's share of focus, Misty and Brock were supporting characters. Things blurred with Advanced Generation; Ash and May were co-leads, with their journeys and development receiving a near equal split of focus and weight.
The Generation 3 Pokémon games introduced Pokémon Contests, competitions where Pokémon and their moves are judged by aesthetics rather than power. The anime worked these in by having May compete in these contests; in a parallel to Ash's gym battles, May had to win five of these contests to compete in the regional "Grand Festival."
It wasn't just the human cast who received more evenly-split focus in Advanced Generation. Throughout the Original Series, Ash's Pikachu and his three Kanto starters (Bulbasaur, Charizard, & Squirtle) stole the spotlight, while the rest of his team, not to mention Misty & Brock's, shared the background.
