Dragon Ball Legends is a fighter with some light RPG, gacha, and adventure elements. It features a story mode as well as online PvP multiplayer. You can also collect all of the various Dragon Ball characters. The combat mechanics are similar to many free-to-play mobile fighters. It’s mostly a series of simple taps and swipes rather than any complicated mechanics. The Dragon Ball series was always a little too dry for my tastes, and the game is much the same way. However, fans of the series seem to really like this one over most of the other mobile Dragon Ball games. Most of the complaints we saw were for lack of new content and some connection issues.
Crestoria doesn’t have its own anime, but the Tales series has many games and some anime as well, so it counts. The games a little poorly on budget, mid-range, and older devices, but otherwise, it’s a fairly standard gacha with many Tales elements. Get it on Google Play.
Azur Lane is relatively new, having become an anime in fall 2019. However, the game was announced in September 2018. This is a mobile gacha RPG with shooting, simulation, and side-scrolling elements. You collect anthropomorphic girls that act as warships. You do battle with the bad guys with your ship girls.
Fate/Grand Order is from the massive and popular Fate anime. It’s a fairly standard gacha mobile RPG. You collect some of the massive cast of characters from the long-running series and do battle against the bad guys. It features a story mode, online PvP, and it’s fairly friendly for F2P (free to play) players. Most of the cast is fully voiced as well. We appreciate those little touches. Of course, it does have the same pitfalls as any mobile gacha. There is a ton of grinding, a little luck, and some corny dialog involved. However, The Fate series itself is much the same way. Plus, this is one of the few mobile RPGs that play in landscape mode. More space is a good thing.
Honkai Impact 3rd followed a similar path as Azur Lane. It started out as just a mobile game but eventually had an anime adaptation. The game works like most gachas but has a little more action with hack-and-slash action RPG mechanics. It’s a colorful game with plenty of characters and plenty of things to do. There are also seasonal events to keep things fresh for endgame players. There are in-app purchases along with a subscription cost. The subscription just gives you some guaranteed items on a timely basis, and you don’t really need it to enjoy the game. This same developer also does the critically acclaimed mobile RPG Genshin Impact ( Google Play ), which is another shoo-in for this list as well.
It is a strategy RPG with gacha game elements. Players get to collect several characters from the anime and deploy them against the enemies. It helps gamers to relive old memories of the series. Its mechanics are simple to work with.
This is a mobile gacha RPG that involves a lot of shooting, simulation and so on. You get to collect anthropomorphic ladies that act as warships, and then you fight the enemies with your ship girls. This game goes down in an alternate universe version of World War II. You will find characters from Hyperdimension Neptunia and Armored Trooper VOTOMS.
One feature that stands out is it being F2P friendly. It comes with very special graphics and even if it is not an official Tales game, it is surely one reasonable option for anime game lovers.

Available on: PC If you aren't at all familiar with Doki Doki Literature Club, you probably have a lot of questions. And I can tell you that whatever you might think of it given the name, Doki Doki Literature Club probably isn't anything like what you're expecting.
If you've ever wanted to inhabit the most powerful heroes of the Dragon Ball universe and exact revenge on any one of their many foes, Dragon Ball FighterZ offers that satisfying, almost cathartic experience. Of course, you can also embrace your inner-villain and fight Goku as Frieza, Buu, Kid Buu, Beerus, Cell, and Captain Ginyu.
If you're looking for a traditional JRPG with a heavy anime bend, Tales of Berseria fits the bill and then some. The combat, if not entirely innovative, is challenging enough to engage through the roughly 60-hour campaign, but the real highlight is the emotionally-captivating storytelling.
If the anime you prefer are of the stylized, global, and awe-inspiring type, Astral Chain is right up your alley. And if you're at all familiar with PlatinumGames' other IPs, like Bayonetta and Nier: Automata, you're already largely familiar with Astral Chain's vibe.
999 is another oddball sleeper hit with a unique gameplay flow structured around a surprisingly captivating story. Also like Catherine, the story branches into different paths based on your choices, although in 999 reaching the "true ending" requires multiple playthroughs.
Catherine deserves more attention, but the game itself is to blame for its niche appeal - its subversive and sexually-charged moralizing is almost impossible to package neatly into its inventive puzzling RPG format for mass appeal.
The latest release in the acclaimed Fire Emblem franchise lives up to, and even exceeds its name in plenty of ways. With a large, highly-explorable base hub, emotionally-gripping story, and dynamic characters and relationships, it's easy to forget you're playing a turn-based strategy game, and a damn good one.
One Piece is one of the most influential anime in Japanese history. An adaptation of the best-selling manga, penned by the legendary Eiichiro Oda, One Piece is an epic story of a pirate crew in search of the show’s namesake treasure.
Soma is a likeable protagonist who never backs down from a challenge, and his commitment to both his cooking and his friends — including standoffish rival Erina — makes for a compelling story that tugs at the heartstrings.
Anime has slowly but surely taken the Western world by storm, and with good reason. Whereas traditional live-action television is firmly rooted in realism, and American cartoons largely relegated to non-committal filler for Saturday time-blocks, Japanese animation offers something radically different. With its outlandish premises, superpowered protagonists, and serialized episodes built around narrative arcs, anime has captivated a generation of millenials hungry for stories of young’uns that “dream big” and “shoot for the stars.”
Avatar: The Last Airbender isn’t anime in a traditional sense. It wasn’t drawn by a mangaka, nor was it directed or animated by a Japanese studio. But the influences are there, clear as the sky on a hot summer day. Like One Piece, Avatar is a sprawling epic, spanning continents and nations.
The Fate series has many different entry points. While the series has plenty of manga and anime variants, there aren’t that many games based off of it in comparison. Which is a little strange considering the whole franchise got its start with a Visual Novel.
With all the Dragon Ball games out there, it’s easy to overlook a lot of them – especially the handheld titles. The Legacy of Goku II is one of the best Dragon Ball games out there, yet it rarely gets any love.
Most anime series are based on already running manga serializations. In a way, you can see them as a sort of ad campaign or promotion for the original work. But if a manga or anime gets big enough, this spills out into nearly every facet of pop culture. Movies, toys and even games are made to build off a given series’ success.

Love Plus isn’t actually all that pervy on the sexy games scale – it’s just a little creepy. This DS title is probably best described a girlfriend simulator. A pocket girl you can carry around with you and interact with – pretending all the while she’s your real girlfriend.
