As cosplay has become more mainstream and accessible, people have been able to enter the world of costume creation at younger ages. On average, cosplayers wear their first costume to a convention at age 21. However, there is no age limit for cosplay.
“Can kids cosplay?” A resounding YES. Children can cosplay and even do a good bit of the work that is involved in creating costumes and characters. Kids tend to be creative and take more risks and chances that result in amazing creations.
Generally, if your child is above the age of 13, well behaved, and traveling with a group of trusted friends, it's probably fine for them to attend the convention without you. Is my child safe? Anime cons are generally very safe environments.
Wear comfortable clothing and shoes. If you are not cosplaying, you should make sure you are wearing comfortable clothes and walking shoes, as you will likely be on your feet most of the day. The convention may be hot once you are inside the venue, so you may want to dress in layers to stay comfortable.
Absolutely, in fact the majority of attendees don't do cosplay for the event. And if this is your first time, it may be for the best if you opt for comfort over creativity. If you have a relevant t-shirt, Comic-Con is a great place to wear it.
Toy or fantasy guns that are "obviously fake" are allowed. Swords are allowed if they can be tied shut in their sheath, or if they are made of wood or plastic. Swords must never be waved around or wielded, but they can be used for still posing for photographs.
Over the years, SPJA has supported organizations such as the Japanese American National Museum, Animator Dormitory, and Japan Society Relief Fund through its annual Anime Expo Charity Auction.
So much to do you'll need shadow clones to do everything. With hundreds of hours of programming across 4 days, you'll need to choose wisely
So this will be my first time attending Anime Expo and I have seen/heard a lot of horror stories about the entrance line on the first day. Like people waiting in line for over three hours to get in. So my question is it worth going the first day? Or is it better to just go on the second day when they have a better handle of the lines?
Hey guys first post here. I have 2 extra 4-day general attendee badges I'd like to sell. I accidentally purchased 2 extra ones. I really can't say I know how I did but I did.
So anime expo mentioned to gain access to the convention you ether need to show vaccination cards or negative test results i was wondering if it had to be from a station or would a home kit mange to pass. Also was wondering if they may drop there rules or alter them with the current change up (Coachella dropping proof and mask rules)
Hello, I've been to AX back in 2019, but I'd booked a hotel on my own closer to the LAX airport.
My group plans to stay until Sunday night (to beat the July 4th airport). This means we arrive Friday night, leave Sunday night (4 nights 3 days).
I don't see a link in the confirmation e-mail when registering premiere and I'm starting to worry since booking is in an hour. What was the title of the email with the link to the hotel booking site for premiere or was that e-mail not sent out?
