The first anime involving catgirls, titled The King's Tail (Osama no Shippo), was made in 1949 by Mitsuyo Seo. In America, the DC Comics character Catwoman first appeared in 1940, and Cheetah first appeared in 1943. Catgirls were further made popular in 1978 manga series The Star of Cottonland, by Yumiko Ōshima.
Also known as "nekomimi", a catgirl is basically a human girl with cat ears and often a cat's tail. She generally will exhibit many cat-like qualities, such as fold her hands in the shape of paws, nuzzle or lick her "paws", make literal cat noises, and otherwise act downright adorable.

Neko's exaggerated childlike femininity is appealing and the aesthetic is frequently shared on Twitter. Cat kemonomimis (aka nekos) in fiction are generally normal humans with cat ears and a tail. However, some have other cat-like features like paws for hands or feet.
Mainly cat ears and a tail. I gave you some examples of 'Neko's below: Himari Noiharais a very famous example of a Neko. In the anime Omamori Himari, she is an mc for the story. In the anime, Himari is given cat characteristics beyond a tail and a pair of ears: that is essentially what a Neko should be.

Berserk is one of my favorite manga and I just love the action, violence and gruesome content. Berserk gets two anime adaptations. One in 1997 and one is in 2016. Compare to manga both of these animation sucks on a big level and looking at it makes me disgusted and I want. Continue Reading.
Coming off the back of a year riddled with delays and calendar reshuffling in literally every aspect of entertainment (and live-action movies and TV shows, in particular), the Winter 2021 anime season has come storming out of the gates. We were already excited about the continuation of series from last year, like the Crunchyroll Awards favorite Jujutsu Kaisen and the tail end of Attack on Titan‘s final season, but the new additions to the lineup of currently airing shows have been welcome, unexpected surprises. Luckily, watching these titles are more accessible than ever, with free tiers on Crunchyroll and Netflix producing its own originals (and licensing some recent hits). From the weird to the heartwarming, these are our favourite anime of the year so far.
Given the right direction and good animation Berserk can prove its strength. I just really hope Berserk is redesigned in anime and relaunched.
There are indeed very few anime shows with nekos, even when they are quite popular. This is a neko paradise, apparently. It's only an OVA so far, though perhaps it will become a longer anime show down the road. Based on a eroge game. There are several characters with animal years here, well, different races in general.

Simply put, a Neko Boy is male individual in anime that possesses cat ears (or nekomimi which literally translates to “cat ears”, and people prefer to call them that) or a cat tail. They also possess some sharp claws sometimes and show to have some sharp canine teeth as well.
There are different Neko Boy characteristics depending on their characters in the stories that they are in but most of them share a common thing - they act like cats . They sleep like a cat, they stand like a cat, heck they even boss around like a normal cat does.
The Neko Boys, or just simply the Neko archetype which also includes the Neko Girls, too, are famous because of their kawaii features that are unusual to look but yet are charming to the ones who observe them. The charm of the Neko Boys are their neko mimis and tails that are non-existent in the real world.
