It’s an overwhelmingly minority opinion, I know, but A Silent Voice is a slapdash, choppy, depthless summary of a remarkable, heartrending story of the despairing consequences from the most basic of our childhood stupidities: our ignorance of empathy.
People with disabilities should be appreciated, protected, and accommodated just like everyone else if not more
As I said before, Nishimiya did not have accommodations and the physical, and emotional support was lacking. This is also Prevalent in real life. There are schools who do not properly accommodate students, although it is better now, students with disabilities sometimes do not get the support they need.
Mental illness is real and should be spoken about more
Mental health is real guys, although that fact has become more knowledge and people are now being more educated, it is still oftentimes disregarded. Like we see with Nishimiya in elementary school, her dealing with bullying caused so much mental anguish.
Bullying is not the answer
Bullying is not the answer, one person who depicted that in “A Silent Voice” was Miyoko Sahara who was willing to learn sign language for Nishimiya sake, unfortunately she gets ostracized and looked down upon as well.
A bully Can Grow To Become A Better Person
While this is not always the clase, it is true. We see this in “A Silent Voice.” Because of the experience he had in elementary school and on, he grew to understand the mistakes he made and how he continues to grow. We see Ishida continue to grow.
Forgive those who are truly trying to make amends for their past mistakes and not condemning them for mistakes they made years ago, especially when they are trying to change
The thing is, Ishida always felt like he didn’t deserve to live because of his past actions, and Nishimiya blames herself because she thought it was her fault that he lost all his friends.
My Experience
I was born with a visual impairment called Nystagmus which is incurable. For that reason I can’t see from a far distance even with glasses. When I lived in the United states, I did receive accommodations, I went back to Haiti due to circumstances and went to school there. That school is where I battled with so much emotional anguish.
