Kimari's longing to do something, to break out of the mundane before her life passed her by, but her simultaneous fear of doing anything at all--that's something I can relate to. A lot of people probably can. She came off as a bit ditzy sometimes, but she was never treated too harshly because of it.
It can be considered slice-of-life, but it does have a plot. In fact, it balances the two things well. The majority of your time is spent watching four high school girls goof off, but the plot never stalls. On occasion, their antics ARE the plot, like the passport incident. I personally never got bored.
Nighttime is so much more expansive. People feel like they can bare their soul in the quiet coziness of stars and shadows, or the safety of having someone beside you in shelter while the weather comes down around you. "Erased", "The Promised Neverland", and "Mawaru Penguindrum" did a good job of this as well.
In Episode 1 , as Shirase tells Kimari about how everyone she knows tried to discourage her from going to Antarctica, you can see that Shirase submitted a form for a club that would go to Antarctica, with herself as the president, vice president and both of the other required founding members. Friendless Background:
As excited as Kimari is to go to Antarctica, she soon realizes there's a lot of preparation needed for it to even be an option, plus an extensive training, not to mention her mother is less than enthused and demands that she study much harder to compensate for the school she will inevitably miss.
Sleep Cute: Kimari and Shirase nod off together on the train at the end of Episode 1. Sneeze Cut: When Kimari blames her sister Rin for not being able to bring along a potato peeler, a quick shot of her is seen back home sneezing. Stage Mom: Yuzuki's mother, who is also her agent at her talent agency.
This moment helps to convince Yuzuki that the other girls actually want to hang out with her because they like her , rather than because they just want to hang out with a famous celebrity.
On the morning Kimari was supposed to head out, Megumi says she's "breaking up" with her. She then breaks down and says she's the one who spread the rumors, in the hopes that Kimari would stay rather than go. However, Kimari refuses to accept the breakup, and still considers Megumi to be her best friend.

Yuzuki has a moment of this when the other girls arrive at her hotel room and offer to hang out with her in Tokyo for the day due to a job she had there. Up until that point, any girls that she tried to befriend only seemed interested in her fame, rather than her personally.
Mari Tamaki is in her second year of high school and wants to start something. It's then that she meets Shirase, a girl with few friends who's considered weirdo by the rest of the class and nicknamed "Arctic" since it's all she ever talks about.
I'm quite new to anime but what I have watched was amazing and so far better than this. Actually, I like the mystery genre and watched that kind of animes before so didn't quite like it. But it's enjoyable .
