Overall, if you plan to watch My Little Monster, don't have any expectations of a grand love story because there isn't one. As a romantic-comedy there should be a balance between romance and comedy, but this one leans more on the comedic side than the romantic one.

He always finds time to get in between Shizuku and Haru, to Haru's annoyance. In chapter 44, when he fully accepts his feelings and finally confesses and she doesn't give him a response and he tells her to properly consider him.
In the final chapters, after Shizuku has gone to college, he and Shizuku get married.
Haru makes more than a few comments that are inappropriate (although not as bad as Problem Children, thankfully). Nothing ever happens and it's pulled out mainly for comedy and little else. But it's there, bunking this show to YA for sure.
They embrace and get back together. At the end of the series, Haru and Rin embrace and kiss after they feel the Sohma curse has been lifted. In Fruits Basket Another, they are revealed to be married and the parents of twin children Sora and Riku.
Yamaken (Kenji's nickname) confesses to Shizuku about his feelings, but it is not reciprocated. He then proposes to break off their friendship and Shizuku calmly agreed. Later on, however, they mutually become friends.
Yoshida Haru In the manga, Yūzan distanced himself from Haru because Haru received more care from his parents than he did. Jealous, Yūzan did what he could to distance himself from Haru. He hated Haru because of this.

‘My Little Monster’ is quite a short anime with close to 13 episodes, each being about 24 minutes long. I usually enjoy anime that keep it short and simple because watching long-running anime is quite an investment. And that’s the best part about these 13-episode anime; even if the show ends up being subpar, you still don’t regret it because you haven’t wasted too much time on it. But then there are times when some anime use their brief runtime in such a weird way you almost forget that you only went through a 13-episode season. ‘My Little Monster’ is one of those few anime that go so deep that even the 24-minute episodes feel like they’re close to 50 minutes long. Calling it slow-paced wouldn’t be right; “plot dense” would be the right term for it. But plot density may not always be a good thing.
Shizuku Mizutani is a very studious high-school kid who cares about nothing but her grades. She despises all her classmates and is apathetic towards everything around her. Then comes Haru Yoshida, a rebellious trouble maker who stopped attending lectures because of some feud he had earlier gotten into. They’re both poles apart when it comes to most aspects. But there’s one thing they have in common — both of them are clueless about human nature and have no idea how one makes new friends.
Shizuku is an average high-school girl who has long brown hair that she often keeps tied up behind her ears into two twin ponytails and allows a fringe to rest down her forehead. She has beautiful brown eyes and if she wasn’t so much of a misfit, she would’ve had a lot of admirers. Shizuku depends on nobody and firmly believes that growth only comes to those who believe in solving their own problems. She often seems emotionally withdrawn and only cares about getting good grades so that she can one day be like her hardworking mother. In the past, there was an incident where the class pet of her batch had died. While everyone else was mourning its death, Shizuku asked the teacher if she could be excused so that she could go home and do her homework. It was after this incident when everyone started calling her “Dry Ice” for her coldness towards pretty much everything.
Though the anime has some enjoyable moments, such things cannot be ignored and bring in to light the need for being aware of what we’re watching. There is a clear hint of domestic violence right at the beginning of the show and anyone who is even slightly aware of it will have a hard time getting through it initially.

Despite an initial denial, Kenji gradually realizes his romantic feelings for Shizuku. While walking to cram school, Kenji gets into an argument with Haru due to the latter's jealousy, ending with Haru hitting Shizuku on the head with a can after Kenji dodges it. In class, Kenji inadvertently tells Shizuku that he would be a better partner for her. Shizuki compliments his appeal as a person, pleasing Kenji. Getting lost while walking home, Kenji encounters Haru, who offers to walk with him. Kenji has a flashback of his past with Haru, showing how Haru became violent around elementary school. Alone at the bus stop, Haru reminisces about his past with Yuzan. It is revealed that their family was thrown into turmoil because of him, prompting Yuzan to wish that Haru didn't exist, finally explaining Haru's brother complex: avoiding Yuzan because of his true feelings. Shizuku arrives and Haru finally tells her his true feelings: of his suffering because his bizarre ways of showing others affection makes them hate and leave him. Shizuku realizes that her inability to understand him is the root of their problem.
Yuzan explains that their father had kicked Haru out of their home around middle school but had a change of heart and now wants Haru to come home. Yuzan tells Haru that he wants Haru to stay in school even if it is only because of Shizuku. Shizuku tells Haru that she would be sad if he left. Haru tells her that he chooses to be with her. Shizuku reflects on how much her life has changed since she met Haru. The class representative from Class A, Chizuru, thanks Haru for standing up for her. Shizuku notices the way Chizuru blushes when speaking to Haru.
Shizuku Mizutani is tasked with delivering classwork to Haru Yoshida's house. Haru sees this as something only a friend would do and declares that they are friends. Their teacher, Saeko, tries to get Shizuku to persuade Haru to stop skipping school or else he would be expelled. Haru's punk friends take advantage of his sincerity but Shizuku reveals the truth to Haru. He then confesses loving her. Haru eventually returns to school, where his inability to distinguish social protocols causes a wave of bizarre actions. Shizuku has a flashback of Haru being the top-ranked student before he was suspended. She then deems him her rival and studies hard, eventually placing 1st in midterms. Later, she agrees to go out to eat with him. On their way, Haru casually kisses her, leaving her stunned.
Haru enters the room with Chizuru, also avoiding Yuzan. The truth behind Kenji's words are revealed when they hear Haru and Chizuru discussing his pain with Shizuku. Just then, Yuzan walks in, and Haru holds Chizuru threateningly in front of him, but stops himself when he realizes that people are watching.

The plot of My Little Monster resides mainly in the perspective of the two main characters, Shizuku and Haru; both are social outcasts and have no friends at the beginning of the series due to their own respective personalities not meeting the standards of the social norm. They are both very weird characters, but maybe that's
I enjoyed the first half of My Little Monster a little more than the second because the characters were so forward with their emotions in the beginning and they really did voice what was on their mind unlike many other extremely passive rom-coms. The second half seemed to be a bit lacking for me in terms of development overall.
The premise seemed interesting; a studious, no nonsense, anti-social girl named Shizuku finds a friend in a hostile boy Haru.
There are many times in My Little Monster that you will sadly forget the show is in fact a 'romantic' comedy since the romantic bits of the show are extremely lacking. In fact, I would go so far as to deem it underwhelming. It was such a nice change up for the main characters to admit they were in love with each other within the first three episodes that I developed higher expectations thinking the series would be one of the best rom-coms around. Unfortunately, the romantic progress seemed to work backwards and the main characters went from knowing they were in love to becoming extremely passive, both unsure what they wanted from the relationship. Though this saddened me greatly, it does not ruin the show in the slightest.
As a romantic-comedy there should be a balance between romance and comedy, but this one leans more on the comedic side than the romantic one. It is a very feel good anime, and if you can ignore the lack of romantic development the show excels in giving you laughs and will leave you feeling genuinely happy.
