Krolia is known to have been a member of the Blade of Marmora for an indeterminate amount of time prior to arriving on Earth. Following Sendak's acquisition of the Red Lion, the Galra Empire managed to engineer a tracker that could locate Voltron Lion signatures at close range.
Due to her duty as a Blade, Krolia has had to endure great internal conflict. While she did leave Keith on Earth with his father, Krolia did feel immense regret for having to abandon her son, determined to not do so again when she betrayed her enemies in order to protect Keith, showing that she does indeed love her son immensely.
She is the mother of Keith, and she crashed on Earth after trying to prevent the Galra from reporting the location of the Blue Lion to Zarkon. After crashing, she was found and saved from the wreckage of her ship by Keith's father, who she fell in love with soon after.

The Galra are varied in height, though most are comparable to humans, with Zarkon being a notable exception, standing at an estimated 9-10 feet tall. Others, such as Morvok, are incredibly short, standing even smaller in stature than Pidge.
Lotor has been shown to be quite powerful in terms of his strength despite his emphasis on speed and technique in his fighting style. This can be seen in how he was able to hold his own against Throk, a much taller, albeit lanky, galra.

Krolia has the appearance of a lean, athletic Galra woman with light purple skin. Once Keith was born, Krolia wanted to name him "Yurak", but his father suggested "Keith" instead. Yurak is the original character from Defender of the Universe on which Sendak is based.
Krolia's specialty lies in aggressive close combat with martial arts and bladed sidearms, but she relies heavily on her laser gun. She has extremely quick reflexes and superior strength, easily tossing other Galra and knocking them out with a few blows. Krolia heavily applies her intellect in battle to deceive and outwit her enemies.
Unlike most Galrans, Krolia does not have yellow eyes with no visual iris and pupil. Instead, she has purple irises with white pupils and yellow sclerae. Like other Galrans, Krolia has prominent fangs and claws. Krolia wears black armor accented with red and light gray over a dark gray spacesuit.
Krolia has highly trained piloting skills thanks to her status as a Marmora operative infiltrating the Galra Empire, particularly its scout teams. They are highlighted in her fight against another Galra scout and her safe, albeit crash-landing, of her damaged ship.
