Kite is one of those anime that I want to like more than I do, but is impossible to do so as a critic. Along those lines, it's also an anime that is almost impossible to hate...if you don't mind very high levels of violence, gore and some pretty graphic sex (if you see the uncut version). Kite is an anime of extremes.
There's not a lot else to say about Kite aside from that it's worth at least one watch, but your mileage will definitely vary. It's an anime that can be enjoyed, but not by very many. It's only 50 minutes long, so whatever pain you might encounter won't be too bad, and it won't be lasting.
The original Kite isn't available for streaming anymore as far as I remember, no one has the license, you can find Kite: Liberator which was the sequel OVA on Crunchyroll or VRV in the US. I'm watching it On VRV now.
You should watched this on a stream via internet. Netflix supposedly sensors the sex senes which are key in charactor/story development (even if they overdid it a tad). What to say about this one...? Kite is one of those anime that I want to like more than I do, but is impossible to do so as a critic.
Kite - Watch on Crunchyroll.

this is certainly not the best anime out there, but dont take it too seriously and have fun with the really twisted story and well thought-out action sequences. the ending is very rushed. i had to watch it a couple times until i figured out exactly what happens.
2However, subsequent releases, including all three DVD releases in the United States, have edited the OVA into a film....Kite (1998 film)ア カイト (A Kaito)Runtime60 minutes (uncensored) 45 minutes (censored)Episodes2 (Japanese release) 1 (International releases)11 more rows

The anime is beautifully animated and the story expertly told. The dubbing achieves new levels of quality even for original productions, let alone dubbing. Everyone that can stand a certain amount of gore should see Kite . It's that good.
Kites is a far better movie than most of the movies made at present. It may not have gained commercially but it did gimme a joy that such movies are being made. The acting was good. Barbara is cute can't blame people who thought she couldn't act because we are fed on diet of melodrama.
With loads of style and visual panache, as well as a surprisingly interesting story and developed characters, Mezzo Forte is a find for the mature anime fan...as long as you're watching the edited version.
As a young girl, Sawa is orphaned when both her parents are brutally murdered and is taken in by a police detective named Akai, who trains her to be a professional killer. He turns Sawa and Oburi, a young boy, into his puppets and makes them kill to fulfill his own sense of justice against child molesters and other harassing members of society.
This is… I don’t really know how to explain this one. It’s not all that enjoyable, and yet, it’s got a strange feeling. It’s not even what I would consider a Hentai since there were very few sex scenes, most consisting of story plot instead.
Full Length Movies. (45 minutes+) Movie series included but only the first one. Movies that are attached to anime series aren't included but if they came first they are. Made a note of ones that I think are stand out movies that all anime fans should watch on some need to finish that part still
After her parents were brutally murdered, school girl Sawa was taken into custody by Akai and Kanie, a pair of detectives assigned to her case. Corrupt and immoral, they train the girl to become a weapon, dangling the promise of vengeance in front of the hapless orphan.
This OVA has been released in three versions: a censored version; a "director's cut," with an extra fifteen minutes of footage; and the original "uncut" version, which remains uncensored. The uncut version contains graphic sexuality and graphic nudity, which led to the OVA in its original state getting banned in many countries.
She may be cute. She may be young. She may seem innocent and naive, but don't be fooled. She's a cold-blooded killer, and if you're on the wrong side of the law, you may be her next target. After being orphaned at a young age, her parents victims of a brutal double murder, Sawa was taken in by the detective assigned to her case.
Three versions were released in the USA by Media Blasters: a "General Release" version (rated 16-up) was released in 2000 and a "Director's Cut" version (rated 18-up) was released in 2002 which was released by their adult label Kitty Media, which contains nearly 10 minutes of explicit footage.
