We collected five more high school anime that deserve a spot on our list, so here we go. Updated May 22nd, 2020 by Louis Kemner: Once again, the concept of "high school anime" has proven itself such a huge and popular genre, there is need to expand a list of "best high school anime" more than once to do all the best series justice.
The plot of this anime is set in a world where magic was once thought to be imaginative and subject of fictional stories and fairy tales. But now it has been discovered and used as an everyday technology. First High School is an academy which teaches students magic. They take an entrance exam which grades the students.
This anime is based on the concept of Kings. They are special humans who have superhuman abilities. They become head of a clan and recruit clan members. Kings also need to take care of their clansman and protect them when needed. Yashiro Ishana is a high school student who has a normal life. But after the murder of Tatara Totsuka, a member of HOMRA, everything changes. The video of the murder his went viral and the murderer seems to bear a close resemblance to Yashiro. The red clansmen of HOMRA are not the one to take the death of one of their own lightly and send assassins to hunt down Yashiro. Will Yashiro be able to survive this ordeal?
This anime is just fun. It is funny and has some great martial arts action. The main protagonist and the titular character of the anime is Kenichi. He is weak and is always getting picked on by others. But in spite of training and becoming strong, he indulges himself in self-help books rather than physical workout. But after he is challenged by a delinquent at a karate club he needs to learn to fight if he wants to continue coming to the dojo. He gets help in a place known as Ryouzanpaku where there are various masters from different martial art disciplines. The training is rigorous to the point that Kenichi wants to quit. But his willpower and love for his classmate Miu, who also happens to live in the dojo and is a great martial artist herself, makes him continue and become stronger.
So, when a deaf girl Shouko Nishimiya transfers to his class he and all other classmates start making fun of her. This makes Shouko’s mother angry and the school is notified of the bad behavior. But rather than the class getting ridiculed Shouya is singled out and blamed. Shouko later transfers out of school.
But sometimes that’s the recipe that works I guess. ‘Kimi ni Todoke’ speaks of a girl named Kuronuma Sawako. She is shy and timid but people and her schoolmates often mistake her personality. Her physical appearance helps fuel this misunderstanding because Sawako has a close resemblance to the ghost girl from the horror flick ‘The Ring’. Her peers have even nicknamed her Sadako. Sawako just wants to live a normal life and have friends she can spend time with. A popular boy named Kazehaya Shouta catches her eye but will he even respond? But he does and starts talking to Sawako. So, there is some hope for our Kuronuma.
The plot tells us of a school Yomiyama North Middle School where a girl named Misaki died many years ago. Kouichi Sakakibara is a teenage boy who transfers to this same school and is assigned the same class as Misaki. He soon finds out that the class is shrouded in a gloomy atmosphere.
12. Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou (2012) ‘Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou’ translates to ‘Daily Lives of High School Boys’ and there isn’t much to say about it rather than it is just an anime which showcases daily lives of high school boys.

2. Nichijou – My Ordinary Life. Amazon. Funimation. Series Blu-ray. Nichijou is a slice of life anime that centers around the lives of high school friends in Tokisadame. The bubbly and feisty personalities of Mio Nagonohara and Yuko Aioi are countered by the subdued nature of Mai Minakami.
The anime follows Hinata Shouyou, a middle school student that develops a liking for volleyball after watching a competition on TV. Although this anime starts in middle school, it eventually progresses to high school life.
Series Blu-ray. Ouran High School Host Club is probably the most well-known high school anime for its wacky plot and constant humor. The story follows Haruhi Fujioka, a student at the distinguished Ouran Academy.
Code Geass takes place in an alternate history that pits the Holy Britannia Empire, the Chinese Federation, and the European Union against each other. The exiled prince of the Britannia Empire, Lelouch Lamperouge, gets enrolled at Ashford Academy and promises to bring down Britannia.
School Rumble concerns the high school life of Tenma Tsukamoto. She’s just an average student, but she has a crush on one of her classmates, Oji Karasuma. She has trouble telling Oji how she feels, and Oji remains clueless to her obvious crush—he would rather just eat curry anyway. Meanwhile, Tenma has her own admirer.
Meanwhile, Tenma has her own admirer. Kenji Harima only goes to school just to see Tenma, and he also struggles with confessing his love. When he tries to make the big reveal, something always happens to interrupt him. The complex love triangle leaves plenty of room for humor and fun.

Aptly nicknamed "Demon President" by the boys for her strict disciplinary style, Misaki Ayuzawa is not afraid to use her mastery of Aikido techniques to cast judgment onto the hordes of misbehaving boys and defend the girls at Seika High School.

For one thing, acting is phenomenal, and since the dub seems to make a point of casting the characters with VA's similar to their Japanese voices, we're going to have to go with the originals.
Tiger & Bunny is a superhero anime about an old veteran of the game and a rookie who he is forced to partner with, creating a buddy cop superhero series with the added twist of the heroes competing on a reality show.
Kill La Kill is another anime where the dub cast did a fantastic job, and since it features a wide range of English VA's filling the role, all of whom who put out some great work. Because of this, we were tempted to put it in the "better dubbed" category. However, when comparing the dub and the sub, the sub still wins.
Panty & Stocking With Garterbelt was designed after 90s Cartoon Network shows, coming off as a much dirtier version of them. As such, we think that the dub of the series is the superior version, since English is more fitting to the art style, which captures American cartoons perfectly.

Though it has a superhero motif, One-Punch Man is a parody of the Shonen battle genre of anime and manga, subverting strong protagonist tropes by making Saitama too powerful to have fun fighting, which tends to be a Shonen protagonist's favorite thing to do.
Soul Eater is like Harry Potter, but if it was about a school that trained grim reapers rather than young wizards. As such, this anime is a great gateway series to get people into the medium, and if you're trying to get English-speaking newcomers to watch anime, dubs are much more accessible and palatable ways to introduce them.
