Despite setting the mood of being a light and funny series, A Channel focuses more on the slice-of-life than the comedy. Certainly, had the anime bombarded the viewer with an abundance of laughs, the everyday meanderings of the girls would have been more bearable.

As with the many moe adaptations of 4-koma manga, A Channel doesn’t have much in the way of an actual plotline. The series focuses primarily on Tooru, a particularly tiny and baby-faced girl starting her first year of high school, and her obsessive friendship with second year Run.

If you're here find nonstop fits of laughter, this is not the anime for you. A-channel is a very cute slice-of-life anime. Although it may have a plot like most school based anime, I think it deserves it's own special category.

A Channel is a Japanese anime television series produced by Studio Gokumi based on the 4-panel manga series by bb Kuroda. It follows the daily lives of four friends, Tōru, Run, Yūko and Nagi.
After showing the cat to the others, Tōru goes with Run to visit a pet shop and a family restaurant, where Run comes with a name for the cat, Tansan. The next day, snow falls at school and the students have fun playing in the snow, except for Nagi who is noticeably bothered by the cold.
For the OVA, the opening theme is "Balloon Theatre" (バルーンシアター, Barūn Shiatā) by Kawano while the ending theme is "Smile Equation" (スマイル方程式, Sumairu Hōteishiki) by Yūki, Fukuhara, Kotobuki and Uchiyama.
