With the power of mind control, friends can be tricked or brainwashed to become enemies in a matter of seconds. A terrifying thought, to be sure. With all the wild anime powers out there, there are a ton that can control the mind.
Theron Martin from Anime News Network gave the series a B+ rating saying that while some may find the opening 10 minutes "overkill", the series is a great mix of "effectively funny, sincere, and heartfelt content". Martin also praised the musical score, but called the artwork mediocre.

It seems that in the end she does really get it – Manabe is the one who loves her unreservedly, for everything she is and everything she isn't. And that being the one unambiguously true fact that Kotoura-san is willing to embrace, it seems a very good thing to end on.
Kotoura-san starts off as a seemingly sad and powerful drama. Maybe a bit generic. What throws people off is that after the first half of the show, it just hits you with all this comedy that you weren't expecting. This is probably what caused the downfall of the show.

And then the next part is just awful: Kotoura makes a mistake, and accidentally ends up reading someone else's mind, so clearly this means that she has to actively target someone visually to read their mind. It's not something passive where she just 'hears' other people's minds.
But upon transferring into yet another school, she meets Manabe, a perverted yet honest individual who accepts Kotoura for who she is, and tries with the help of others to get Kotoura to accept herself.
This is due to her ability to read other people's minds—the same ability that drove her parents away, leaving her alone with her grandfather.
Kotoura-san makes sure you know by shoving it in your face, being incredibly melodramatic, and blaring histrionic orchestral music at your ears.
Ultimately what happens every time is that Kotoura becomes self-loathing and depressed because she blames herself for bad events, only to be "saved" by Manabe and the rest of her friends.
Kotoura-san is about a first year high school girl named Haruka Kotoura who has the ability to read minds. Growing up she has a horrible life but things turn around when she makes friends who accept her ability. One guy in particular named Yoshihisa Manabe also eventually takes a romantic interest in her.

When Yoshihisa and Yuriko discover her actions towards Haruka, Yoshihisa confronts Hiyori and reveals that he likes Haruka. Thanking her friends, Haruka officially joins the ESP Research Club. 3. "So Happy, So Fun".
During her childhood, Haruka is portrayed as a cheerful, friendly little girl who loves to play and hang out with her friends. However, due to her naturally naive personality, she tended to blurt out the thoughts of other children which they prefer to keep a secret, causing misunderstandings between people around her.
As a result, she became isolated and developed a cold personality that shuts out others, being generally rude due to her fear of being driven away again once she made friends with them. When she became friends with Yoshihisa Manabe, she started to open up again to the aspect of having friends and became more friendly, although she is still prone to hurting when someone starts to bully her for her mind-reading abilities. However, as she is older, she tends to keep all the bullying to herself, irritating Manabe.
She was unaware of her abilities and thought nothing of her ability to read minds. The first occasion of this was when Kumiko Kotoura (Haruka's mother) said "Guess what you're having for breakfast.".
But one rainy day, a nasty old woman tells her she brought the cat to an animal shelter and told Haruka not to come there anymore. Haruka fell to the ground crying in the rain, her eyes pupil-less and devastated.
Haruka is known for being "tone deaf" as many of her friends would describe her when it comes to singing. Because of what happened to her she tends to blame herself for everything which annoys her friends.
Haruka Kotoura. Kotōra Haruka?) is the main protagonist of the anime Kotoura-san . She is the daughter of Onozaki Kotoura and Kumiko Kotoura who was born with the psychic ability to read everyone's minds.
Kotoura can read minds causing trouble for her. As a little girl, she didn't understand her ability and often ended up blurting out thoughts of other people, causing people around her to keep a distance from her to the extent of her own parents abandoning her. She then finds many friends in an ESP club and they have many adventures together.
Because the mere concept of someone controlling another's mind and actions is so scary, many tend to judge those with mind control powers as being villainous. This is something U.A. student, Hitoshi Shinso wants to overcome.
While there are more than a few Pokémon out there who've been known to control minds, Malamar (the evolved form of Inkay) is a whole nightmare unto itself. With its luminescent body, Malamar can hypnotize anyone that looks at it into a trance and force them to do whatever it wants.
Sosuke Aizen was a threat for a number of reasons, but his ability to play with people's minds might be one of his more intimidating aspects. With his Zanpakutō, Aizen could take over anyone's senses, making them see, hear, and even feel things that weren't really there.
On top of ridiculous strength, regeneration abilities, and power over Life Fibers, Ragyō Kiryūin of Kill la Kill also had the power to control minds through what she called "Mind Stitching." Wrapping Life Fibers around the brains of her victims, Ragyō could turn anyone into her mindless servants.
Kyūsaku Yumeno, aka "Q", might be the Port Mafia's most dangerous member, and that's really saying something when you consider that it has the likes of Akutagawa and Chuuya. On the outside, Q seems like any other child, but they're not an innocent soul in the slightest and take great joy from the chaos and mayhem their ability causes.
There are many espers in Academy City, each unique and many of which are highly dangerous, and Shokuhou Misaki is among the latter. Misaki is known as the "Queen Bee" in A Certain Scientific Railgun , and that title isn't an exaggeration thanks to her ability, "Mental Out", which can control the human mind.
Yu-Gi-Oh!'s Millennium Items are powerful artifacts with otherworldly abilities such as reading minds and seeing the future. Whoever controls the Millennium Rod is able to control people's minds. The most notable wielder of the rod was Marik Ishtar, a former tomb keeper who sought out the Egyptian God Cards.
title says it all. i really appreciate mental health themes in anime, especially when healing is a theme as well (although not necessary, i can handle despair). it’s also important to me that it’s portrayed well! thanks
I wanna watch the type of anime where the MC is insanely powerful, but has to hide his power, either from the civilian folks around him or from other people with superpowers.
Well, it's fine if he does get better, I guess the story has to go somewhere. But I'd still prefer it if it just got worse rather than better.
My girlfriends had a bias against anime and people who watch it for the longest time, and I finally got her to agree to watching an anime. She said she wants to watch a mystery. Specifically, a romance mystery, drama mystery or murder mystery. It has to have no fan service and preferably be on Netflix, but it doesn't have to be on Netflix
I recently finished watching Plastic memories, and I need something to cheer me up. I don't care what genre it is, as long as it isn't depressing.
I want to watch something emotional with good story. Preferably fantasy or supernatural. I prefer an mc rather than a main group
I got this image from a no rules type subreddit subreddit. No, the comments there didn't help.
