‘Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso’ is another great anime series and has received some great ratings. The show has a high school setting giving it a spot on this list but the underlying musical, inspirational and romance theme is what made me enjoy this anime. The plot follows the life of Kousei Arima who is a skilled pianist.
School anime is a craze amongst many anime fans. It's also because there are quite a lot of anime viewers who go to school. They're either in middle or high school. It's the audience feeling “relatable” that makes it popular.

In short, Yes. It's a beautiful Anime with a great plot. The Soundtrack is amazing too. But the one thing I personally liked about this anime is the character development and backstory.
Fruits Basket is just.. a masterpiece. It's definitely become one of the most memorable shows I have watched this year. The characters were wonderful, all of them, but especially Tohru who was like a ray of sunshine piercing through thick dark clouds.
The anime industry is known for churning out a lot of "slice of life" comedy and drama series, and they often take place in a high school. This isn't an accident; many anime viewers are high school themselves, so this academic setting is relatable and familiar. But that doesn't have to make for stale, routine storytelling.
12 Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches. Now we get a harem anime, and not only that, but a set of seven magical girls, as the name suggests! As expected, this anime packs all kinds of high-voltage high school hijinks, and it all starts when Ryu Yamada trips and knocks over his classmate on the stairs.
After the Rain is actually a quietly uplifting series about healing and self-confidence.
This high school comedy is truly wacky and insane, even by anime standards! You never know what you'll get with each episode of this whiplash anime, and none of the characters are as simple as they look. Except possibly for Yuuko, who mostly reacts to the lunacy around her (and struggles to study, too).
This is no ordinary high school. It may not be cursed and there 's no body-swapping or gambling, but there is a big yellow alien, Koro-sensei. He is an invader who wants to doom the entire Earth, but he also wants to teach.
5 Toradora! This high school comedy stars the tiny but tough girl Taiga Aisaka, who has a serious reputation for kicking butt. Meanwhile, she ends up in a surprise friendship with Ryuji, who certainly looks scary, but in reality wouldn't harm a fly.
Many of the high school anime titles on this list are hilarious and exciting, and Oresuki is no exception . If you thought love triangles were complicated, just wait until you watch this anime. In it, the main character (who goes by Joro) is asked to speak privately with two different beautiful girls. He hopes that he's about to get some love confessions.
Junketsu No Maria. In this anime, our main female character “Maria” is a powerful young witch living with her two familiars in medieval France during the Hundred Years War against England. As the war rages on and the innocents get caught in the destruction, Maria becomes fed up with the situation.

When the main character has to reach the school by boat, it’s already legit. Fuuka Academy exists on an island far away from the rest of the world. This makes sense because it’s full of magical girls doing battle with one another. But setting that aside, this is a prestigious school that only exists for the richest students and those who are smart enough to earn scholarships to get in, so of course, it’s pretty expansive.
It’s still mostly safe for normies, so long as they know how to mind their business.
Mahora Academy is a literal freaking city. Their library is so absurdly large that no one actually seems to know the limits of it. There’s no need to ever leave it to go to another school, so everyone from elementary on just goes up through the grades, which means you just get to enjoy this amazing school-city that feels like home for years.
Of course, some anime schools are cool regardless of how people felt about their own time there. Schools in which the characters learn awesome powers, become giant robot pilots, or live on a luxurious campus are too fun to pass up.
Medaka Box’s Hakoniwa Academy feels like a pretty normal school on first look. The only thing that initially stands out is their giant Clock Tower that seems to be overkill even for a neat anime school.
Magic-users can co-exist in the world of Magical Warfare with ordinary people without their knowledge.
In this post-apocalyptic world where humanity got destroyed by giant armoured insects forcing them to live in floating cities, watch as wizards from famous wizard academies take on these monsters and try to keep humanity alive.

Despite not involving magic, the show Clannad has many unique supernatural components. Primarily being a slice of life with a sad tone, Clannad wrote itself into history with the fantastic second season of After Story. The first season lacked a strong, serious manner, but it also had some things to say.
Not a magical anime, but the way it is built around academics and superpowers, I believe, it deserves a place on this list. In the world of MHA, everyone has a unique power called quirk. These quirks are said to be physical abilities, but some of them are weird and spiritual enough to be called magical powers as well.
One day, portals of other worlds suddenly open on Earth, fusing five realities. The overwhelming power of dimensions awakens in girls, who are collected to join the academy built for magical training in the Pacific ocean.
Princess Tiara joins the magic school where her childhood friend Rosetta enrolled too. She befriends the rest of the girls from Rosetta’s squad, but her life at the school gets pretty hard.
Sharing some terms with an upcoming title from this list, the popular series Chivalry of The Failed Knight, Absolute Duo also named the students using soul magic Blazers. This is mostly due to the dubbing team, but the two series are separable.
The academy located on a floating island on the sea is also a battleground for ambitious mage students who want to compare their abilities.
