• Yuri on Ice swept all of the seven nominations in the inaugural ceremony including the Anime of the Year, amid controversy by fans.
• At the 6th edition, Jujutsu Kaisen earned the highest nominations in a single year with 16.
Process
The nominees are selected by a panel of judges via a two-round voting process to produce the final list. Categories can be added or removed depending on fan popularity over the past years, as well as on fan feedback.
